  • What does 13-3 mean?

Did you know, the Broncos have been 13-3 twice, secured a playoff bye and lost the home opener on both occasions?

They say, "third time's a charm", I think it is too.

BTW, an AP article on Mike Shanahan. Leading Broncos resurgence, Shanahan shows he's still got it

Here is another nice read, IMO. Broncos insist this year not like the last two

The 1996 playoff loss is still burnt into Mike Shanahan's mind, he will do everything within his power to make sure it doesnt happen again.

It means we've played 16 games, and that's ALL it means.

It's the playoffs now. Everybody is 0-0.

Yep and we still have a home playoff game and I always like our chances better when we do.

13-3 means 13 wins and 3 losses, and is pretty good in the big scheme of things.
Its also the 2nd best record in the NFL

Well, actually I was getting at the fact that it didn't mean squat the past two times the Broncos finished 13-3. We were beat by Pittsburgh in 91 and then by the Jags in 98. I was also getting at being this is our third time at being 13-3, I think the third time we will actually make something of our 13-3 season, meaning post season wins.

I was just passing on some info that possibly some folks may not have known. We were 12-4 and 14-2 the two years we won the Super Bowls.

Then it's time we win a SB with a 13-3 regular season record!
So Broncos can win it all at:
                  12-4
                  13-3
                  14-2

                  Respect that, media!

I think when we lost to the Steelers it was '84.

Yes and that is why I have a problem with stats as well.

But like MtnMan said, everyone is 0-0 now. This is a new season. This is the post season. This is where the losing teams have been weeded out and now it is up to this year's top teams to duke it out.

and when we lost to the jags, it was 96. unless we somehow managed to lose to them in the playoffs and still won the superbowl in the same year

It means we received a bye week. We received the 2nd place seed and home field advantage unless we play Indy.

That is what it means, but once the divisional game starts it means nothing. The Broncos must go out and win.
