    Well . . .

Bottom line is going into next season the Chargers WILL be the better team at the start of course that doesn't always translate into more wins. However, this coming season things seem to look in our favor.
I'll try to keep this civil as possible because, for whatever reason, the Mods have chosen not yet to move this thread to Smack.

Anyway, SB, if SD would have had the better team, they would have had more wins, and they would have beaten the Broncos at least ONCE this season. You are really in an unfavorable situation to claim anybody or anything from the Chargers is better than that from the Broncos.

And you don't have to "put up" with anything here. If it gets that bad, you know what to do . . . don't log in.

Regarding the linebackers you mentioned elsewhere, you have good linebakers, and we have good linebackers. So what? You probably think you have the better QB. You probably thing you have the better RBs. You probably think you have the better O-line, WRs, TEs, D-line, CBs, safeties. Well, what IS it about the Broncos that is better than the Chargers? We had more wins, we beat you twice, and we played in the postseason while you watched. There most have been SOMETHING.

And please don't use the "luck" excuse. It was a 16-game season, not a one game "fluke."

You tell me who deserved to be in the pro bowl..... And don't give me anything about the defenses Denver AND SD were 1 2 or 3 in Run defense and 23-28 in pass defense for alot of the year as i remember looking at the stats week in and week out. Donnie Edwards has been the better player for several years and put up better numbers just about every season. He deserved to be in the pro bowl as the 8th charger along with brees.

well he wouldnt have so many takles if your weak front line would stop a run now and then

I'll take the Chargers linebackers allll day over the broncos as most people would. Merriman obliterates any LB you have period. Then you go down the list with edwards foley and godfrey and the Chargers have the better core AND front 7.

must be why we are 3-1 against you in the last two years......cause of your great linebackers

Ok fine your core of LB's are better...... but overall Denver is the better team don't believe me? Watch the last two games what were the results? San Diego has abunch of talented players, but they don't know how to stay consistent and they didn't beat teams they needed to. I can't see San Diego beating us out in the AFC West next year especially if we happen to sign TO (don't want to, but it's a possibilty).

Merriman sucks. All he did was rush the passer every play. He is going to get to the QB if that is all he does. A complete linebacker is great at rushing the passer as well as being good in coverage, something Merriman is not. The Pro Bowl is a name game, and Merriman became a popular name this year.

It's a good thing Jay Cutler was a proven winner in college. Oh wait, nevermind.

Getting back to the reason for this thread... These stats look great. We did have a great year...

Next year can only be better with the off season changes. Our rookie cornerbacks will be better because they will have more experience and no one is going away so far. Just improve With free agency, the draft, and get better and leave the other AFC West Teams in the dust as we move on.

Don't you think every team tries to do that? San Diego was supposed to be so good this year because they were returning every single starter and had room to make improvements. Look how that turned out. Every team will make improvements through free agency and the draft, but sometimes teams just don't improve like you think they should.

It's a good thing Jay Cutler was a proven winner in college. Oh wait, nevermind.

                            True. Only time can tell...

But some of us will always be optimistic and one thing does not change and that will be a constant. If Shanahan is our coach we will normally be on the top of the list and always be in the games that we play.

Leadership comes from the top, Bowlen and Shanahan and their years together only makes the Broncos contenders every year.

San Diego on the otherhand... Marty is going to have to win a SuperBowl to have respect. He has done well but Shanahan has always had his number. He will have to prove he can get over that "hill" before he can be seriously considered as a "contender".

Bill Cower got over the "hill" this year and even though he had respect he will have much more now.

Marty has not reached that goal. The Drive, The Fumble will always haunt him until that happens.
