  • Is Burns Leaving That Big Of A Deal??

Sure Keith Burns was a fan favorite. His teammates loved him. He was a great Special Teams player, in fact he was the captain, but is a really a huge loss? We have a lot of young guys who can step it up on Special Teams, and I think Coach Bradford will have the guys ready to go. Burns wants to get PT at MLB and we don't need him to do that here. I'll miss his enthusiam, but is he really that big of a loss??

On special teams he is a very big loss, he will not be starting with the bucs either, but he will improve their special teams alot, i look at it as a big loss not only for that reason but also because we are letting a lot of players go but we havent brought in anybody to replace them, we need good back ups as well as starters, our team depth is going down as each day passes and we dont seem to be doing anything to correct this problem.

I too agree that he was great on Special Teams, but we can replace him with somebody on the team, let's say Willie Middlebrooks or Terry Pierce. I know he won't be starting at MLB in TB(a guy named Derrick Brooks I think), but I guess he feels he will get more PT there than here.

The only place I feel we are in dire need of depth at is O-Line. I think we can address the other positions in the Draft.

I love Jason Elam to death! Every time I see him line up for a field goal, I'm like...."This is easy"...

But kickoffs and punt coverages what made us look like fools out there.

I think we need to get a new kickoff specialists but you do not want to lose Micah Knorr because he's a pretty good punter.

              *choke*

I can kick better than Knorr. He is utter gob****. His kickoffs are ok but his punts (outside of denver) are crap. I want us to have another look at Matt McBriar...he only got one chance and he was pretty shaky.

well if we want to fix special teams so bad shouldnt we weed out the bad special teams players....not let our best special teamer go? i just dont see how losing burns will some how help us revamp our special teams. middlebrooks is horrible on special teams tackling, to me the two best special team players we have or had was burns and droughns. burns is gone and im pretty sure ruben is next.

We signed Hayden Epstein to challenge Micah Knorr for his spot.

Right on. If players play and coaches coach, then our problem on special teams involves who plays.

A new coach deserves new blood.

Burns is a great Special Teams player, but I don't think losing him will destroy our Special Teams. Like you stated our Special Teams wasn't that good last year anyway. I think a young player like maybe Terry Pierce(who is working on losing body fat), Willie Middlebrooks, or Chris Young could turn into a stud on Special Teams.

Horrible huh? He had 16 Special Teams tackles last year, second to only Burns. He'll be fine.

Agreed. Middlebrooks is finally getting healthy and he could have a standout year on Special Teams.
