Orlando, Fla. - It doesn't appear the Broncos will be getting a jump on the NFL season.
According to four NFL sources, it is unlikely Denver will play the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game Sept. 7 at Heinz Field to open the season. It has become a tradition the Super Bowl champions host a Thursday night game to start the slate. There's a strong chance Miami will be the Steelers' opponent in that game. The league will announce the game as early as today at the owners' meetings.
There were indications inside the organization the Broncos would be the Steelers' opponent in what would have been a rematch of the AFC championship game. If not picked to play in the opener, Denver will play at Pittsburgh later in the season.
Seems as if we won't play Pittsburgh as a opener. What do you think will happen?
