  • mike is telling the truth

ive read and heard much of the criticism and speculation, and i hope to be able to maybe dispell some of the rumors and set at least some of the story straight.

i am unfortunately not at liberty to discuss all aspects of the situation, but there are a few things i can say.

this IS NOT a second or third violation. it is his first accusation.
there are reasons why a first violation went to suspension, and those reasons will come out soon, but i hope at least some will believe me when i say that this was mikes first violation, and he is doing his best to defend his character.

i use the word character, because mike anderson is most definately a man of integrity and character. i know this first hand.
many will question him, but i can vouch for him ,and say that i support him 100% and when he says he only inhaled second hand smoke he is telling the truth.

he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. he knows it, and you cant imagine how bad he feels about it. the worst part of all this is that its happening to one of the most moral and stand up guys to ever suit up in a bronco uniform. the truth will come out in more detail soon, and i hope until then you all will give him the benefit of the doubt. i can tell you that he deserves it. he is kind, thoughtful, appreciative, and most importantly he is sincere and has CHARACTER.

his only offense was being around people smoking pot, and if being around the wrong people ONCE is grounds for deffamation of character, i think we're all in trouble.

im still kind of in shock at how this is playing out, but i hope that at least some of you will believe me. the rest of the story will come out soon, but i just couldnt wait till then to defend him. this was, and IS the kind of player and person that i point to and tell my son, "thats an athlete you can look up to"

i am even more proud the way he has handled this situation, and when you all hear the whole truth, i know you will be too.

I must agree here. People will believe what they want to believe and unfortunately once something likes this is exposed, it tends to haunt them regardless.

If he truly was just "around" it, then his decision to put himself in that position will also come under fire.

Mike you silly boy, what were you thinking?

    GO BRONCOS!!

and people who know him enough to know that he doesnt smoke pot.

i agree that this situation looks bad for him, and i dont expect many will believe me, but this is not a guy who smokes pot. unfortunately, he was around people who were, and that was a bad choice, but it is hard for me to watch him get crucified by media and fans when i know him to be a man of integrity and honor.

Jake, I believe you (and Mike) 100% but the general public will not. Unless you know Mike personally (and it appears you do) it is hard for anyone to know what to believe.

I believe Mike can get through this. He has been one of my favorite players since Terrell left.

Good Luck Mike and see ya in 4 weeks.

        GO BRONCOS!!

"Under NFL policy, a suspension doesn't come until after at least one positive test and the player has entered a confidential drug-testing program."

Usually what happens is after the first positive testing they get a warning, enter Phase 1, and get random testing after that. After the second positive test they get suspended. However, one can enter the first phase by admiting themselves into the first stage, without ever testing positive. According to the Denver Post.

First of all, pot is not exactly a preformance enhancing drug. So why would Mike partake when the Broncos need him the most?? I believe Mike is telling the truth... he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

And as for not being able to detect second hand smoke in your urine, that is false. If you remember a certain snowboarder from Canada had his gold metal taken away for the same thing.
Do or do not.... there is NO try

this is his first offense, and there are special circumstances that led to it going to suspension. its very hard for me not to be able to say more right now, but what he is doing right now takes a lot of courage, and when the rest of the story becomes public, i hope you all will feel the same way. the details may come out later today, but my biggest point for starting this thread now was to dispell the rumors that this was a repeat offense. it was not.

for some reason, I always thought it is the first offense that gets you suspended anyway. well, Im an idiot.

If you take what I have to say seriously, then I'm embarrassed for you.

Oh Jake, I didn't post that trying to argue babe.

Just that without any more details, it leads the masses to believe only 1 of 2 things.

                    He did it.
                    or.
                    The NFL is being unfair.

If he entered phase 1, voluntarily, then he knew drug tests were coming. Second hand smoke or not, it was ignorant in the extreme to even be around ANYONE smoking pot.

If he didn't enter phase 1 yet, got popped for inhaling 2nd hand smoke, and the NFL suspended him for 4 games, then it's totally unfair.

No one here. Even the Chiefs fans. Has even implied that hes a bad guy. Just at some point, he made a bad choice. And until the details you reference come to light. We can do nothing but speculate.

Not to dispute you Mer, 'cause you seem like an even keeled, intelligent person.... but your fellow KC Fan ( KCDominatrix ) has been all over this like white on rice. Yes, Yes.. I know your reply will be "well look at the source". I'm just mentioning that not all of the KC fans that visit here are as honorable as the few I've grown to respect.

Smoking weed does not damage anyone's character, Bronco or Chief. This really souldn't even be an issue. Now if it was steroids...

Well, I hope it all works out well for Mr. Anderson.

As for KCdomination/trix, he only started posting in the last couple weeks and I have yet to see evidence of consciousness or coherent thought. So don't put any more thought into what he/she says then he or she does.
Despite all the hype, once you finally get a hammer, you don't hammer nearly as much as you think you will.

                              That sounds "reasonable"...
