mary is not a drug, it may be classified as one but it really is no worse then, alcohol, taobacco, I don't think eith one of those has a medical use as does my sweet mary, and if he did do it I will not look down on him for that now Irvin that is another story he is just a crack head...

Well when do you think he's going to come out and tell the world that Shanny was lying?
Are we going to have to wait until his suspension is up?
Until he retires?
Tomorrow?

ps- as a man of intrgrity and honor, mike agrees 100% that to be a liar is worse than to smoke pot. that is precisely why he wont lie and say he did it.

interesting responses from all.
as for the kind sentiments, he appreciates them all.
dont be surprised to see a full page add in the news to thank the fans for their support. he will appreciate knowing that many here support him also.
as for the rest of the comments, this is really the heart of the issue. whoever said lawyers are hired when people are ACCUSED, kudos to them. thats exactly right. all persons accused hire lawyers. some are guilty, some are not.
the problem here is that for mike to say "i did it", would be having no honor in his view. i understand and respect that. he is probably suffering more scrutiny now for holding his ground, but he is doing what he feels is right.

Well i wasnt talking about people with money, they dont have to admit to ****, thats what money is for, to buy their way out of trouble, but for the rest of us, its a different story.
My point is you need lawyers, they all arent crooks, theives and liars, and one day a lawyer may actually save your life, so dont be to cynical...........
But nuff said on this subject............I will drop it.

Hmmmm, you know what, I never actually said anything about lawyers being liars, or did I really even bash lawyers. I was only implying that after the lawyer gets done with making the statements, we still won't know what the true story is. I'm not so sure lawyers want to know the whole story, otherwise wouldn't it be a mistrial to defend a person that admitted guilt to you? So, with that in mind, lawyers never tell anything but 'the truth'.
This includes all of the stories that will come from the Bronco's PR department also. Pretty much the same thing.Last edited by wesuckrealbad; 11-13-2003, 02:40 PM.

That is kind of my point of the remark. It would be so refreshing if when someone got caught doing something they shouldn't have, that they step to the plate and say, "yep, I did it. I'll take the punishment and we will all move on." Another poster or two on here mentioned that it is actually worse to be a liar than a pot smoker. I completely agree with that.
And some people on here are worried about their children, and what kind of message drugs are going to send to them. Now what kind of message are the kids getting? Well, ok, your role models do make mistakes, and when they get caught, they spin and lie their way through it.

You are right, I would hire a lawyer too if I make a huge mistake. Does that make it respectable?
No, they hire them when they are ACCUSED of wrongdoing also.....Plenty of people are accused of doing things they havent done, hello OJ................HAHAHAHAHAHA just kidding.........LMAO
But seriously, I was the one who said it would be worse for Mike to be a liar than a smoker as far as integrity goes, but not all lawyers are liars.......

Thats not right, lawyers arent bad, you just hear about the bad ones, just like you will hear about NFL players when they do something wrong but how much publicity do they get when they are doing good things....................Lawyers are paid to tell their clients version of the truth, that is their job, to defend their client, would you want a lawyer that was any different.............I love how everyone bashes lawyers but when they get in deep chi whos the first person they call?
P.S. Sorry to get off subject but I dont like generalization, and yes I know it was a joke.................sometimes I like to jump up on my soap box too

I never make a decision about something until I can hear everything everyone has to say.........I love Mike and wish him the best, I dont know why he is being targeted, but its wrong.............send him my best, let him know that he has plenty of people who are backing him no matter what

lying does. I, personally, hope he's not lying and could care less whether he smokes or not. Lying shows more about a persons integrity and charachter than smoking pot does.
2) i understand that the question will remain for many of you, but it is his first and only positive test.
3) as for the laws and rules, i am no expert. what i do know is the character of mike anderson. i also know the mitigating circumstances that lead to him being suspended for a first violation. i feel like a kid with a secret and it feels like crap, but i couldnt watch him get crucufied by media and fans when they dont know the truth.
maybe i shouldnt have said anything, but i think its important to at least inform people that there is ALOT more to the story. i wont say the whole story, because i respect mike and he asked that those of us who know remain quiet for now. mike wants everyone to know the truth, but he has to wait for his lawyer to give him the ok after concluding his talks with the nfl. there are special circumstances here that will eventually come out, and i hope that at least some will take the word of those of us who know him and give him the benefit of the doubt until the rest of the story comes to light.
