"Under NFL policy, a suspension doesn't come until after at least one positive test and the player has entered a confidential drug-testing program."

i agree that this situation looks bad for him, and i dont expect many will believe me, but this is not a guy who smokes pot. unfortunately, he was around people who were, and that was a bad choice, but it is hard for me to watch him get crucified by media and fans when i know him to be a man of integrity and honor.

Jake, I believe you (and Mike) 100% but the general public will not. Unless you know Mike personally (and it appears you do) it is hard for anyone to know what to believe.

I believe Mike can get through this. He has been one of my favorite players since Terrell left.

Good Luck Mike and see ya in 4 weeks.

    GO BRONCOS!!

I must agree here. People will believe what they want to believe and unfortunately once something likes this is exposed, it tends to haunt them regardless.

If he truly was just "around" it, then his decision to put himself in that position will also come under fire.

Mike you silly boy, what were you thinking?

    GO BRONCOS!!

started a topic mike is telling the truth

    mike is telling the truth

ive read and heard much of the criticism and speculation, and i hope to be able to maybe dispell some of the rumors and set at least some of the story straight.

i am unfortunately not at liberty to discuss all aspects of the situation, but there are a few things i can say.

this IS NOT a second or third violation. it is his first accusation.
there are reasons why a first violation went to suspension, and those reasons will come out soon, but i hope at least some will believe me when i say that this was mikes first violation, and he is doing his best to defend his character.

i use the word character, because mike anderson is most definately a man of integrity and character. i know this first hand.
many will question him, but i can vouch for him ,and say that i support him 100% and when he says he only inhaled second hand smoke he is telling the truth.

he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. he knows it, and you cant imagine how bad he feels about it. the worst part of all this is that its happening to one of the most moral and stand up guys to ever suit up in a bronco uniform. the truth will come out in more detail soon, and i hope until then you all will give him the benefit of the doubt. i can tell you that he deserves it. he is kind, thoughtful, appreciative, and most importantly he is sincere and has CHARACTER.

his only offense was being around people smoking pot, and if being around the wrong people ONCE is grounds for deffamation of character, i think we're all in trouble.

im still kind of in shock at how this is playing out, but i hope that at least some of you will believe me. the rest of the story will come out soon, but i just couldnt wait till then to defend him. this was, and IS the kind of player and person that i point to and tell my son, "thats an athlete you can look up to"

i am even more proud the way he has handled this situation, and when you all hear the whole truth, i know you will be too.
