lol i didnt realize i was that good at predictions
If they stay with kind of rotation they had last season he'll get about 70% of the snaps.

with all of the ends we have, it's really hard to predict, but i'll be a little bit surprised if he gets that many snaps-- though i'm really not all that impressed with either of 'em (*sigh*), i tend to think lang is a little bit better player than ekuban. . . . i know he's supposedly pencilled in right now as the third-down specialist only, but i kinda expect him to take some PT from ekuban at some time during the year. . . . who knows though? we'll see. . . . . it would really be nice if jackson could come out of the blue and actually be good. . . . .

but out of the ends, im hoping it ends up that lang, engleberger and ekuban are competing for 2 spots. for that to happen, either jackson or dumervil will have to show something in camp and pre-season. it would be nice to have some youth in the rotation.
Veal is not a tackle, he is a DE/DT transitional player whom played at tackle in the rotation last season. If you remember he was last year on the roster as a DL (Trans) But he is roughly the size of a heavy defensive end, he really does not match up to fit on our tackle rotation with guys all close to and average of 300lbs.

Engleberger's production has fell short the lately, but he will compete for a spot. But we are deep at the end position, so we could see Denver test a few at tackle, like they did with Pryce.

No, in fact, Veal is one of our better undertackle prospects on the roster. He'll see heavy PT as a tackle, just like he did all of last year.

What do you mean by no? He is a transitional, that is what DL means, just like when have a DB, or an OL! That means that player can play any position and is not slated for any one spot. If you look at the roster from the beginning of last year he was a DL, he is a DT on the roster now because of last season, that is all. He is not guaranteed any spot and read his profile it even says he can play both positions.

I didn't see him play DE once all of last year. Perhaps he is listed only as DL because he played DE at Tennessee, but he doesn't have the necessary tools to rush the passer from the end.

He demonstrated the best penetration ability of all our tackles last year...by far. He is on the roster...guaranteed.

Well he might be on the roster only because lack of depth, but other then that. Well who knows? We still have cuts coming, so we could end up nabbing some more bodies for the roster. But Veal will have no guarantees!

I would say denver will use 10 spots for the d-line this year, so will likely keep five to six ends and four to five tackles. I am leaning towards four tackles and six ends.

DTs that would be Warren, Veal, Myer, and???

DEs would be, Ekuban, Brown, Engelberger, Dumervil, Jackson and Lang.

What do you think? I just can't think who would be the 4th DT.

Amon Gordon....the latest Brownco. He was seen as an athletic penetrator type coming out of Stanford, and I believe he was an early day two pick. I think he has the best shot because of the "Andre Patterson effect." Unless someone like Majondo-Mwamba or Antwon Burton can really show something in camp, he really has no competition for that 4th spot.

That's the list I'd LOVE to see come out of preseason. I don't want anyone to get axed, but if someone has to go I'd pick Engelberger (only because of the supposed pass rush prowess of Jackson).

ohnokoolaid said that gordon could possibly be a decent player for us, and i trust his judgement. . . . i really don't know anything about him myself though. . . .
