Non-conference games are far less important to a team's success for a variety of reasons.

Something I mentioned while half the population of this palce was getting ready to think about who we should use our top ten pick in the draft on, in the wake of the week one loss.

    I'll take that
    Exactly.

That's why that was one loss we could afford to take.

That is the same way I do my own power rankings.
Because playoffs are the only way to make it to the Super Bowl.

If the season Ended today!!! (After week 7)

Well, week 7's over, and as promised, here's the weekly look at what would happen if the season ended today including complete playoff schedules and explanations.

As always, please comment, unless you're commenting on how you don't care.

Let me know what you think, and let me know if you think I made a mistake.

Here's how the AFC would look:

    1. Indy (6-0)
    2. Denver (5-1)
    3. New England (5-1)
    4. Cincinnati (4-2)
    5. Baltimore (4-2) 1st WC
    6. San Diego (4-2) 2nd WC

    Matchups

Indy and Denver would have bye weeks.
    San Diego @ New England
    Baltimore @ Cincinnati

    Explanations
--Indy is first because they have the best record.
--Denver is second because they beat New England in week 3.
--New England is third because they have the best record of the remaining division leaders.
--Cincinnati is fourth as the final division leader because a) They haven't played Baltimore head to head yet, b) They're division winning % is equal. c) They're both 1-1 in common games.
    d) Cincinnati has a better Strength of Victory.
--Baltimore is fifth and the first wild card because they have a better AFC record than San Diego.
--San Diego is sixth because they have the best record of the remaining non division leaders.

Here's how the NFC would look:

    1. Chicago 6-0
    2. New Orleans 5-1
    3. NY Giants 4-2
    4. Seattle 4-2
    5. Minnesota 4-2 1st WC
    6. Atlanta 4-2 2nd WC

    Matchups
Chicago and New Orleans have bye weeks.
    Atlanta @ NY Giants
    Minnesota @ Seattle

    Explanations
--Chicago is first with the best record.
--New Orleans is second with the second best record.
--The Giants have a better conference record than Seattle.
--Seattle wins their division over St. Louis with a better divisional record.
--Minnesota is fifth and first wild card because they have a better conference record than Atlanta and St. Louis.
--Atlanta is sixth because a)They haven't played St. Louis b)equal conference records c)equal strength of victory d)Better strength of schedule

    Enjoy!
