  • This is a mistake.. Jake should still start

Something just doesnt feel right about replacing Jake at this point. We still are in the playoff hunt and Jake has been a proven winner.

Its funny how hard people are on Plummer, for instance.. Everyone bagged on Plummer for two close games against the Raiders.

San Diego eeks out a 17-14 win yesterday and its peaches and cream for LT and the superchargers.

I think everyones fascination with a furture has clouded their judgement on making decesions now.

Has it not been the status quo to only replace your starting QB when your out of the playoffs?

This is going to split this team in half if Jay cant win the next two games.

I for one cant pretend that this teams offensive struggles have been ALL Jake's fault.
    Just admit your wrong

21-14 and its more than just about wins and losses at this point:

    Here's some interesting stats:

3rd down conversions - 39% (58/149) THAT IS NOT GOOD!

    Time of Possesion - 29:45

Bottom line - Jake cannot keep the offense on the field. Whether its keeping us out of 3rd and long or 2nd and long situations we need a QB that can force those safteys out of the box and respect the deep ball. Jake "Ol Noodle Arm" Plummer just doesn't have the arm strength to make the throws we need him to make.

What? If Plummer could complete a third down pass the Broncos could easily be 11-0, 10-1 at the worst. The players love the guy, but he just doesn't have it this year. He has been pathetic and has held the team back all season. The team needs to do something or this season is shot.

Maybe it is slow because most of the posts were actually Jake Plummer with different nicks. LOL

Um...true...Jake and the passing game do typically have a hard team eating clock and staying on the field. Shouldn't the running game be more to blame for ball control issues? When you have 3rd and short and have to pass because your backs are averaging 2.0 yards a carry, it puts everyone in a bad position.

They are averaging 2.0 ypc because of the extra safety in the box. Also, we're probably in 3rd and 7 or 8 more than we are 3rd and short.

Hmmmm so I guess Jake's the only player out there on 3rd down huh.... .....I thought there was 10 other guys out there with him.

              Look at this....

1st down....Bronc's try to run left.....stopped for a no gain.

              2nd down....Bronc's try a pitch right....stopped for a 2 yard gain.

3rd down....Bronc's have to pass, the D knows that, so they rush, WE HAVE NO PASS PROTECTION, so Jake has no time to convert on 3rd down.

              4th down....punt.

It's not all Jakes' fault for the O's struggles people. I know we need a scapegoat, but WHATEVER!!!!!

You're right it is Jake's fault because the D doesn't respect the deep ball. Read the whole post please.

I felt the same way for most of the season, but then my opinion changed. Bronco fans aren't any less reasonable than the fans of other teams. The fact that most of us see a problem with the offense and think a QB change is in order, despite the record, shows that something really is wrong. I really couldn't believe it when I finally started to want Cutler behind center--I kept telling myself "But we're 7-4! Jake is a winning quarterback!". But I think the fact that, despite the record, we still want change means that the team is not winning because of Jake. Also, the only real contender we've beaten this year is New England, and that's just because Shanny always outcoaches them.

Oh so there was never a dropped pass or anything all year huh?

Jake's to blame for it all........ Can't wait to see Cutler get the same pressure and see him throw a few picks a nd fans calling for his head.

Replace Jake with Elway. Did we ever replace Elway because of losing....NO.

Bottom line is the offense can't keep Jake on the field. With the exception of Walker there has been little to NO consistent help.

In the last embarrassment the running game amassed 38 yards 10 of which was Jakes running for his life.

No my friend it is not Jake that is the biggest problem on this team. Merely a part that if replaced won't make a lot of difference other than getting to see the new kid.

The long ball Y'all so desperately crave needs time to set up and with this oline I just don't see that happening.

We're a run first team, opposing teams are dropping that extra defender into the box out of respect for our running game. If you pay attention to opposing teams defenses this year they've also left a spy or a defender on the edges to keep containment on Jake. If you watch Atlanta's games you'll notice that opposing teams do the same thing to Vick and their offense.

Now should Jake be able to beat opposing defenses with an extra defender in the box on the run and an addition man following him? Yes, but how is Jake supposed to do so when the biggest component of the team passing game isn't even out there running routes? The TE is one of the key components of a successful West Coast Offense.

If your TE can't run good routes and catch the ball when its thrown to them. How is the offense supposed to move the chains? If we're forced to leave the TE one of the key components of the passing offense in to block to help out an inexperienced T defend the QBs blind side, how is this player supposed to make plays for the team? If our pocket held up for more than 2 seconds maybe the QB would be able to complete more passes.

Another problem with our passing game is Rod Smith appears to have lost a step or two and doesn't beat coverage as good as he did last year. Furthermore, we don't have a true deep threat in our offense to help keep that extra defender out the box. I thought Hixon and Clark were deep threats if they are why isn't one of them on the field to stretch the field like Lelie did for us last year and open up more space underneathe?

So I guess it is entirely Jake Plummers fault the offensive line can't block well enough on their own that we have to leave the TE in to block, we have no deep threat, Rod Smith slowed down, we don't run enough swing passes to the RB or flat passes for that matter.

That happened the day Lepsis went down. Point of fact. It has been bandaids since and when foster was replaced that was the white flag up the flagpole, giving the season up.
