Or it could Cutler is using The Force to guide his passes...
Yeah, everybody has their own little habits/tendencies in their throwing motions. Those coming from QBs with rocket arms are more apparent as there is a lot more force involved.

Jay Skywalker? Terminatoresque mechanics/technology? Or, maybe just "Hi Mom!"

I liked using 'The Force' comment

But really, does any one with specific knowledge know if this has anyhting to do with training/balance/whatever, or is it just a natural reaction?

I mean, it could be, just like everyone's shot in the NBA is different, as well as every pitchers stride/mechanics is unique in MLB

Hell it could be just like when i'm pounding OJ straight from the carton, and my other hand is in 'gimp mode'

There's a lot of information out there regarding this - academies, videos, etc. I believe there is a "general" acceptance of the "proper" throwing motion, but it also comes down to individual intricacies and simply what works for that passer - especially with the non-throwing hand. Many of the greats had/have something in their mechanics that's scrutinized. Essentially, I think it's a little of both, but it would be nice to get an "expert" opinion on the matter. Where's Kube's when you need him...

I know what you're talking about with the "gimp" hand thing. Brushing my teeth and cleaning my ears out usually does it to my "non-throwing" hand as well.

I was a QB in college. You use your non throwing hand like a guage or a feeler. Try throwing a football with your non throwing arm to your side. See how far you can throw it and how accurate you are.

I tell you I love Elway! He was my hero growing up. I loved the way he threw the ball with velocity! I love that in a QB. This is why I am a Cutlerfan!!
