  • So...now the NFL just forced Denver to burn a bye week and the Patriots game is next Sunday?

    • The NFL is just being careful. If the virus was to escalate and infect multiple players they would look bad. Better to be safe than sorry. I would rather see the Broncos play the Best team the Pats can throw at them.

        Do you know the date today's game was postponed to tomorrow?

            Since you say Gilmore tested positive after the MNF I assume you mean he tested positive on Tuesday.

            So does a player testing positive on Tuesday run consistent with other games being being pushed back from Sunday start time to Monday or is that inconsistent with previous games being pushed back? Was this really all about getting Cam on the field?
            Broncos played their week four game against the Jets Thursday 1 October and won. Belichick wasn't happy about playing a Denver team after a mini-bye. Then Newton tested positive and was out for their week four game at KC on Sunday 4 October. Then that game was postponed one day to Monday evening 5 October. Pats lost to the Chiefs with Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham quarterbacking and turning the ball over four times. Now Belichick was really unhappy about playing Denver coming off a mini-bye while he was on a short week without Newton. NFL apparently has a rule that a player testing positive, but asymptomatic can return in ten days. Presto, NE's week five game with Denver on Sunday 11 October is postponed until tomorrow Monday afternoon 12 October. Newton has his ten days by virtue of the postponement. However, that is precluded now because the Patriots don't have their Covid situation under control, so the game is put off another week and many schedules are screwed up in order to accommodate the precious NE Pats who should be forced to forfeit.

            • Heck, what’s stopping a team from falsifying positive test to help give your injuries players another week? Heck, why not go into next week saying multiple Denver players have it to get it pushed another week. Start getting players like Bouye back sooner without missing too many games. Btw I’m joking but I can see teams taking advantage of that somehow

                Are you kidding me? All these teams being impacted because of NE’s nonsense? They should have just made them forfeit the game.

                Yes, it sounds extreme but look at the consequences to several other teams now.

                Forfeit and no other team has to jump through your verbal and crazy gymnastics.

                • So instead of pushing the game back to the last game of the season they

                  force us to lose our bye week
                  mess up the dolphins schedule
                  mess up the chargers schedule
                  and pretty sure they messed up the jets schedule

                  just add another freaking week to the end of the season instead of making all these moves and screwing teams over. what idiot decided this

                      If the Broncos play the Pats next week, and have no subsequent positive covid tests, it will be a miracle. I expect NE will have more positives this week. They should have been required to forfeit.

                      • Has the 4th Patriots player that tested positive been identified yet?
                        It seems kind of strange that every other player going all the way back to Von Miller a few months ago has been identified as having Covid, yet we still don't know who caused this latest positive result.

                          It was DT Byron Cowart

                            Right. As a result of moving the Denver at NE game to week six and calling week five the bye for both teams, the following has resulted:

                            ~ Denver has four scheduling changes;

                            ~ LA Chargers have four scheduling changes;

                            ~ Miami has four scheduling changes;

                            ~ NY Jets have two scheduling changes;

                            ~ Jacksonville has two scheduling changes;

                            ~ and, New England has one scheduling change consisting of moving their bye week from week six to week five.

                            If that is not a classic example of favoritism, don't know what is. Five other teams have multiple changes while the Pats move their bye weeks. Unbelievable.

                            P.S. Missed a couple. KC and Buffalo each had a date change for their week six game against each other from Thursday 15 October to Monday 19 October.

                              And if more cases crop up this week, then what? Yet another cancellation/reschedule and another grand reshuffle of multiple schedules? Amentia!
