  • New GM Search Candidates

Some of you know a lot more about this stuff than I do so I thought that I would start this discussion. Who is your candidate for GM? I've only heard of a couple of prospective guys out there like Mike Borgonzi, Ed Dodds and Morroco Brown being sought after.

I like Louis Riddick a ton and he would be my choice for GM.

With that being said, it will likely be someone with previous ties to Denver. I mentioned in the other thread that Adam Peters, Champ Kelly, and John Spytek are top candidates that fit that criteria.
    2020 Adopt-A-Bronco: #10 JERRY JEUDY
Previous Adoptees: #25 CHRIS HARRIS, #38 QUINTON CARTER, #43 TJ WARD

LU would be my choice too.
Until we get a TRUE not name "Lock" qb we will miss the playoffs and be average at best! I'm E2DS and I approve this message! "AND IF YOU DON'T KNOW, NOW YA KNOW."

I think the favorite to land the job is Champ Kelly. Long ties with Denver and has ties and good relationship with Vic Fangio when in Chicago.

If that's true, I hope he learned a lesson on the Nick Foles deal. If you're going to start a quarterback controversy, the guy you bring in better have more than just a name.

Who in their right mind would want to come here under these circumstances? And no mention of the Bowlen family during these moves. Is Ellis trying to scare them into selling the team?

Lament elsewhere, brother. We’re trying to discuss new GM search candidates, not why new GM search candidates should be scared of coming here.

I guess I have another question about a candidate. What does a GM need to have (experience, name recognition, etc) to be successful with Elway & Fangio? I'm curious if this is an odd situation for someone to walk into and what do they need to have to get the Broncos back on track

I'm sorry. I didn't see that in the rules of this thread. Wait, there aren't any. Speculating on candidates has to include who actually would want to come here. For instance, Riddick's MNF gig is likely pretty good, and a position like that can be a whole new career. Coming to a team where ownership is going to change in the very near future offers very little stability. Kelly might see this as a step up, considering his situation.

Riddick or Peters would be my top 2.

Inside the Bills building they have multiple potential candidates, guys who have interviewed for jobs in recent years who could be on the radar. Also the Vikings have multiple candidates who I would be interested in, I have liked their draft approach in recent years. All I know if if Matt Russell gets this job, I am going to be annoyed.

Chris Shae of KC, talent evaluator, Cap specialist, and he’s a lawyer.

He may be worth a long hard look!

He got his start with the jets under Bill Parcels which should count for a lot considering he’s also a film study junkie and understands analytic.

Chris Shae is a very bright human being in my opinion.

Sounds like Peters is often mentioned. Also sounds like the 49ers might do a shuffle to keep him. Mayhew over there is a mention. Also heard John Dorsey's name thrown into the ring. That would be swinging for the fence. If they brought in a guy like him, I'd expect a big change on the coaching staff....maybe not immediately, but likely at the end of 2021. Bringing in Dorsey would sound like the future of the team, maybe even making the team attractive to potential owners.
