Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Special shout out for Shurmur calling read option on 2nd and goal. You’ve got Williams and Gordon and you think the best call in that situation is to let Lock run it.
Hopefully just the final nail in Shurmur’s coffin. Consistently, bafflingly bad calls in the worst situations.
Shurmur seems to think that weird crap at bad times is the same as being creative and unpredictable.
Shurmur stinks. No if ands or buts about it. Good news is we only have to endure 3 more games of this putrescence.
Other than Hinton they had no backup to Lock with Rypien inactive and Shurmur made the worst possible call to run Lock. Williams can literally drag defenders for
10+ yards and Shurmur made that call.

Shurmur is the worst OC in the league.
They should ask Peyton if he wants to try his hand at OC yet.

There would be a real advantage with Peyton’s ability to breakdown defenses and game plan. He would also probably be good with in game adjustments and exploiting matchups. The downside would be expecting quarterbacks to think at his level which could work against the process of developing a young quarterback. Then again having him would raise the bar on what’s expected.

I think he would give a lot of QBs easy reads to make and when to change out of plays or hot route a receiver. Plus he would be in their ear a lot of the time. too

Peyton, “Mu dude there is no playbook you’re living in the simulation”
It took Shurmur over half the season to realize how good the run game was. Imagine if he was able to figure out the team in training camp and build a passing game that fully leverages the run game from training camp.
Not sure who is backing Shurmur inside the Broncos but Shurmur and everyone who thinks he should be an OC need to be purged from the NFL.
Fangio will lose his job for a lot of reasons but #1 is Shurmur.
Shurmur’s resume tells you everything you need to know:
Top 10 in points - once
Bottom 10 in points - 7 times
Top 10 in total yards - zero
Bottom 10 in total yards - 7 times
Top 10 in pass TDs - once
Bottom 10 in pass TDs - 5 times
Fangio should be escorted out of UC Health Training center for hiring Shurmur.

Substitute any metric from any sport, business, or profession - who would hire with that resume?

It looks even worse for Shurmur as Munchak has vastly improved the OL and Fangio has the D playing amongst the best in the entire league.

Not just improved OL play but our running game is really good considering teams know they can load the box up and not even worry about the pass.
There are worse offenses in the NFL this year but I do not remember feeling like a Denver offense was worse than what we seeing this year. Probably because it is what is holding us back from being able to make the playoffs.

His offenses have also been horrible at throwing picks multiple years.

If 2009 Tebow showed up on the field we'd probably have the division locked up
If he calls read option at any point today, I hope he gets fired on the spot. Unless it’s Kendall Hinton taking that snap. Lock should never have to run read option ever again!
