  • 1/4(-) Season Prediction Thread

With 1/4, almost, of the season complete - what’s your prediction on the team’s record?

My prediction is based on Bridgewater hopefully returning vs Steelers:

    Steelers - W
    Raiders - W
    Browns - L
    Washington - W
    Cowboys - L
    Eagles - W
    Chargers - L
    Chiefs - L
    Lions - W
    Bengals - W
    Raiders - L
    Chargers - L
    Chiefs - L

    9-8

Depending on when we get Jeudy back and injuries, I think the record could easily swing 1-2 games either way.

1-5 in the division? Wow! This team has to be better than that, I mean at some damn point we are going to beat the chiefs....what the hell has it been like 6 years or something?

I’m sure hoping to be wrong and pleasantly surprised finally beating the Chiefs!

I can see that as well. Teams like the Lions, Washington, Bengals and Eagles will be tough. Only gave wins there thinking the defense can keep us in those games - three with young quarterbacks.

I'll play... also assuming Teddy plays in Pitt.

            Steelers - W
            Raiders - L
            Browns - L
            Washington - W
            Cowboys - L
            Eagles - W
            Chargers - W
            Chiefs - L
            Lions - W
            Bengals - L
            Raiders - W
            Chargers - L
            Chiefs - L

9-8 as well. I can't imagine winning in Pitt with Lock starting but I'd love to be wrong.

Well the W over the Cowboys makes things interesting. Certainly didn’t expect a win yesterday.

Remaining opponents look beatable although every game is unique.

Is 9-8 realistic, or are the Broncos giving us false hope?

If we can split with the Chiefs and Chargers it can be done.

This team will do the exact opposite of what you may expect, except for the times that they will deliver on expectations. So with this in mind I'm predicting either a 5-12, or 12-5 record... I fully expect the Eagles to be a tough match up... exactly because I don't expect them to be.

I think the Eagles will be tough to beat. KC is scraping out wins however I think it’s just a matter of time before Mahomes gets their offense back on track. Can’t take the Lions for granted either - they play hard every week.

I'm going to go way out on a limb and say that if our Offense and Defense both play well and our ST doesn't cost us games then we may win more than we lose which would put us around 10-7 but don't count on it. How about that? Oh and that's also if our coaching staff can gameplan and playcall well for the rest of the year. And make adjustments, can't forget the adjustments.

Back in the glory days (97-98) I remember that people compared our team to a high priced sports car. Well, mainly the Offense because the D just had to keep the opposition under 30 points to win. Well we are now...wait for it...

A hit-and-miss engine or Hit 'N' Miss is a type of internal combustion engine that is controlled by a governor to only fire at a set speed. They are usually 4-stroke but 2-stroke versions were made. It was conceived in the late 19th century and produced by various companies from the 1890s through approximately the 1940s. The name comes from the speed control on these engines: they fire ("hit") only when operating at or below a set speed, and cycle without firing ("miss") when they exceed their set speed. This is as compared to the "throttle governed" method of speed control. The sound made when the engine is running without a load is a distinctive "Snort POP whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh snort POP" as the engine fires and then coasts until the speed decreases and it fires again to maintain its average speed. The snorting is caused by the atmospheric intake valve used on many of these engines.

9-8 seems highly likely. The problem for me is does being over .500 signal to the front office that we're close and don't need to do much in the off season?

I don't believe so. Paton wants to be a GM. He won't stand pat at QB. We could start teddy week 1 next year but that will be only if there is a top QB prospect waiting his chance.

As for Coaching.... Shurmur is gone, unless yesterday's 30 points is the new normal which I highly doubt. I Would not be surprised to See Fangio as HC in 2022 if we end up 9-8.

At 7-6 made the range of 9-8 with a 2 game swing. 9-8 still possible. Thinking we can pickup a W vs Bengals and Raiders (thought we would win the first game vs Raiders). Chargers should be a much tougher opponent in the next game. KC returning to championship form.

They’re all gone. Paton isn’t going to ride with Fangio another season. I also believe new ownership is going to clean house. I would not be surprised if Paton and Elway are gone as well.
