Really though, if we managed to beat a pretty decent Cowboys team, that meant a lot of things probably went right.
But
If the cowboys kick 2 fgs into Shelby's chest pads, drop a sure int, and force two broncos fumbles on their final drive, I'll be a little sus

I'll try to stop with side commentary, other than to say this....there was a time when we would ask folks to stay on topic, and they would. The title is not a definitive "orange coloured glasses" marker, but it is very clear the intent once you read a few posts. FTR, I am not an orange glasses type. I like some passion of course, but I am more to the middle of the spectrum when it comes to why I pull for a team.

So I will politely ask for us all to consider this as a more positive thread about The Broncos. Lets stay on that track thanks. Otherwise, well, I think there are a "few" other threads to employ your disappointment.

There is a possibility that, if we win this weekend, we are tied for the division lead. And if we lose, we may only be 1 game behind.

In a number of years I've seen teams with no business being involved at mid season, ending up in the playoffs. In fact, I've seen teams win the SB that I counted out at this point. Lets be clear, you need to have the ingredients to win, including players, coaches and so forth. And it does not look like we have that team this season. But momentum is a huge factor in the end.

But my deeper belief still revolves around next season and beyond. If Paton is the right guy, The Broncos will be fun to watch in years ahead.

Good post. I am excited to see if some of our young keepable guys step up against much better competition this week. IF Denver stops the run decently and doesn't turn the ball over, forces a couple, we might be able to get a win. Totally agree about Paton, he didn't really get to do a whole bunch of things this offseason. We brought in some good players,Bridgewater isn't the long term solution, and a sixth round pick minus Tom Brady's 1 in million run, wasn't a waste to get a Vet that can run our offense. This game could give us more confidence for the future, next year, as well. We don't even have to win to see if some of this young talent can progress.

Hey, what I understood was that Paton tried to acquire a good QB this offseason, and failing that, took a small chance on Teddy, given his assessment of Lock was probably not too wonderful. It is quite possible his assessment was that Lock may be young, but he is not a long term leader.....whereas Teddy could at least give us some possibilities this year. I do believe that Paton kicked the tires on Stafford, Watson (prior to the allegations) and Rodgers, but that does not mean he was going to sell the farm for any one of them. So he was restricted. And maybe he just did not love Fields or Jones or any other QB, after the 2nd pick of the draft. That's his prerogative.

Anyway....we are mathematically well into the race, so lets hope the guys get some reward for their effort. But come offseason, expect some noise.
