A win against Detroit is the same as it was the first 3 weeks....meaningless because it's against one of the worst teams in the league.

Broncos could win 56-0 and I still couldn't care less.

Talk to me when we beat the Chiefs.

And I don't mean if we win the last week and they're resting starters. I mean beating them when they have something to play for and they actually try.

Until then, I don't care....I'm sick of this organization.
If you said, "I don't care" I would have passed on by. But I still care, and I am sure many others do too.

Tell you why. There are a lot of people involved in this organization, and I am pulling for them. Maybe some more than others, but that's an individual thing. I pull for the players, who do not call the shots, and put out every week, most hours of the week, to try to win a game. They did not come here to be part of the problem. They came to win games, be the best player they can be, and yes, make many of us proud.

And wins are a great thing. Each win restores confidence and trust in a player, that their team is onto something, sometimes even if for another year to come. It's great for the vets, and it's also great for the younger players, who will benefit by being part of a winning culture. And even a win against The Lions would be of value, maybe not to get us into the playoffs, but because it's a big league game against a competitive force. One of the most fundamental aspects of sports...competition. Not sure if you noticed, but The Lions were extremely happy after their only victory this season. And for them on a team that has also struggled for some time. Good for them! It was heartening to see so many strong, tough men acting like they had accomplished something great, in spite of their record thus far.

Again, had it been an individual feeling of yours, that's all good. But "who cares?" implies a more general Broncos fan populace. I am one of them.

This one should be a no brainer win, and if it's not, then heads do need to roll.

Really glad Detroit got the win-monkey off its back though before playing us. Reduces trap chances.

I know there was some hope of winning this last week, but I'm also pretty sure that most of us being real with ourselves also knew we wouldn't pull it off. Ask me in any offseason how I feel about our chances of going into KC in December after their bye, and I'm sure you know the answer.

The difference between 7-5 and 6-6 is pretty surprisingly large though, but the biggest lost opportunity was the one for a statement. Again though, we didn't lose to the 3-4 Chiefs, we lost to the 8-4 Chiefs.

We have 5 games left, and the book isn't closed on this season. The door to the playoffs gets smaller, and my hopes are middling, but I still want to manage at least a winning season, and it's still well within our reach.

I don't have a whole lot of thoughts on this game in particular. Play our game, and the win should come.

Because, it's not going to prove anything other than we can beat bad teams but lose to good teams, especially when it matters the most. It's what we've already seen. There's nothing to take away from beating Detroit. Lose, then there's something to take away from the game.

And secondly, it's an NFC opponent. If we do win, we'll be 4-1 against the NFC but 3-5 against the AFC. It does nothing to help us in head to head match ups or tiebreakers. That's a problem when we're competing in an AFC playoff picture when just about every team is in the mix.

I get it, everything is rosy for some. But I'm not celebrating or tolerating anymore meaningless wins. I'm not. It's a joke and so is pretending this team has any shot of seriously competing with this inept coaching and quarterback.

We had an opportunity to build off back to back wins against Washington and Dallas, but we got punked by the Eagles in our own house. After the bye, had a nice win against the Chargers....did we build off it? No, we got b-slapped by the Chiefs for the 12th time in a row. Now I'm supposed to believe that beating the worst team in the NFL is going to change anything? I don't think so.

Let me be clear, I understand that things aren't always perfect and we'll have bad games and bad seasons but it has reached a point over the last six years to where it's no longer tolerable.

But, the rest of the season, I'm willing to tolerate the losing. Losing means we clean house....and I'm all for that. It should have been done last off-season. Paton needs to clean up the rest of the mess Elway left us.

Hate to break it to you, but beating Detroit means absolute nothing. It's just the reality of the situation. I've tried buying in....but this team lets us down every time we think there's a chance to turn it around.

That's why, I don't care if we beat Detroit.....because like it has under this current regime.....it means nothing.

I will care if we win the next 3 games. Bottom line is fail to win the big games than fail to inspire the fans.

Maybe I still go to the Chargers game in LA. The tickets been cheap but the Rams actually looking to be more fun to root for this year

Also SUCKS to pay big money to see the Broncos and they show up like they did Sunday night.

I am with you 100% !! I honestly do think that Detroit will actually get their 2nd win in a Row when they come to Denver and Monkey Stomp Denver's Sorry Lame Duck Team with No Real QB and a Piss Poor HC, OC, STC yeah I honestly think Denver will lose Big Time to Detroit and all of the Rest 2. Denver is looking at 6-11 Record and I am all for that because just like you said that means we are one step closer to Righting This Wrong !!

This seems to have been your take for a long ways back if I have read you correctly.

First bolded......It's a win in the NFL, and it would keep us in the race. For my money, that's called meaning something. Plus it's meaningful to our players and all those involved.

Second bolded.....it's not rosy all the time. But if you know what you got and what you're dealing with, in the short run, no point in acting surprised. For me, in spite of any concerns I had and still have, 7 and 6 sounds pretty decent from where I sit. With a few changes next year, a 7 and 6 now translates to maybe a 11 and 6 next year. Just a prediction from left field, but the onus for me is on us finishing strong, to give our players confidence and belief, and then making key alterations to the "cast".

Last bold....you don't have to break it to me. This is not of the Breaking News variety. An NFL win is always a good thing, and in this case, a 7 and 6 record is not too bad, given our shortcomings.

Right. Five games left three of which are at home. It ain't over 'til it's over.

We are clearly on different Islands. When you use "miracle" that way I wonder what dictionary you are utilizing. I guess they had a "definition" meeting and changed it as follows:

Miracle -When something happens that is expected to happen. Based on sound logic.

                          ABOUT WHO CARES

I'm 63 yrs old ... Played sandlot football in the public park as a kid ... played TE on high school intramural ROTC team ... I cared about each play !
watched and rooted for the Houston Oilers for 2 decades, all thru the Luv Ya Blue years and until they abandoned Houston ... I cared about every pass and every run !
and then I became a Denver Broncos Fan and they gave me 2 Elway Superbowls back to back. Wow that was fun ! It was easier to care then.
I moved to Colorado in 1999 still rooting and caring thru every play that brought back memories. Of course, I can't live in the past and some might call me an optimist.
Every season is a new opportunity. Every free agency period is thrilling and filled with anticipation. Every draft I have my hopes that we will fill needed positions.
Every year when the season starts I look forward to our undefeated record. I anticipate a win each week, no matter how hopeless it might seem to the reasonable mind.
Why do I do this ?

                          Because I'm a FAN and I CARE.

Some may give up on the season and hope for a better draft pick .... I cannot.

Such is the life of a football fan ... we cheer for our teams ... we boo at bad ref calls ... we celebrate the victories and bemoan the losses.
We all have our own way of doing it ... because ...

                          We ALL care !!!

I think all fans "care" on some level.

With me I have a career that dominates about 50-60 hours a week...sometimes more. That is where I am relentless and committed and I "care" the most because it is my career. Lucky I recently got a new job with a better commute so that added time to my week. Basically every day there are 5-10 things I wanted to do that I have the resources to do the things but did not have the resource of time. Lots of things to do and limited time.

Guess what my "care" comes to is how much time am I willing to spend on the Broncos. How much money am I willing to spend on gear.

Basically I have decided if the Broncos can not figure out how to pass the ball or win playoff games I am not sure if I "care' enough to give them my time. They will become one of the 5-10 things I do not do on gameday because there are things I now "care" about more.

Normally I'd say this game is a cake walk match....however....after coming off an emotional win, I think Detroit could be a trap game for Denver. I don't think they are as easy a win as we think they'll be.
