    this is his defense for weak play calling? I mean he cant even scheme his wideouts open let put them in a position to catch it and turn up field....

        They should give Fangio and Shurmur the week off and let the players call the plays. I know, I know, before you torch me for that, could they really do any worse?

            Two thoughts:

            1. It does explain a lot of TB's 3rd down passes. It was getting a little goofy.
            2. I can understand if Shurmur meant "long" 3rd downs, but not short ones. If for example it's 3 and 20, and you have a pass play that the receiver catches on the run, makes some sense. Never if it's a hook type play, where the receiver stops to catch the ball.
