  • There Will Be Disagreement

    Haha.....this is lighter than serious.

For some time we've suffered with losing seasons, HC and QB concerns, and Ownership problems as well. We debated, argued (which is an ok thing FTR), and no doubt went too far a number of times. Most of it is passion, because sports fans have that to the nth degree. It comes with competition, and it comes with love of the game.

So it appears we are on the verge of a pretty interesting overhaul. And it is merging into what could be a perfect storm, and in this case, in a good way. And given we were in some alignment on the issues at hand, particularly QB/OC and ownership though at a less discussed level, we should be excited about the prospects of change.

But change often comes with a few bumps and some sacrifice. So many times I saw how reorganizations in my company, even though the right thing to do, led to some mishaps and most certainly some pain for various groups and certainly individuals. The ole "odd man out" phrase often applied. I remember one significant reorg where I and some others spoke personally with the VP, to improve one manager's situation. He was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. But I am glad we stood up, because it was worth the fight, and it did pay off in the end. Not everyone takes those risks in reorgs, and in fact, some behaviour is distasteful given the selfishness and "me first" mindset of some people.

    I digress.

So the good news, and it's mostly good from my perspective, we will not only have major change but major opportunity to discuss all that is Broncos over the offseason. BUT, where there's discussion, there will be differences all over again. That's expected of a message board. Lets be real, no matter who ends up in what position after the smoke clears, there will be serious alternative views. I may love each of the changes, and someone else might dislike each one. So it's not an assumption that what we mostly all wanted will lead to harmony and peace....and flowers in our hair. Singing together by the fire might erupt into some wrestling and expletives.

But hey, if we are hanging together by a friendly fire, at least we can share a few bubblies, laugh hopefully, and in spite of differences of opinion, be excited about The Broncos' future!

It’s all the rage nowadays but winning cures all. Whomever we bring in I hope they can rally the troops quickly and implement their vision efficiently - let’s hope for the best!
Hate List for 2016-2017 Season: 1. Oakland, 2. New England, 3. Kansas City, 4. Pittsburgh and 5. Houston (yes, Houston....)

Winning cures all is one of the most valid statements in sports. There will always be the nit picky stuff, but winning gives you a bounce in your step.

Winning certainly cures all. But, so does hope. As a fan, I can be much more patient when progress is evident. When execution, coaching, leadership problems are identified, then addressed. Regardless of your side for all the debates we've had as fans, the majority felt like it was coming from the frustration that obvious failures were being ignored and the franchise simply continued with status quo. Now change is non-negotiable. Change renews hope. Hope gives fans and players new reason to fight. I'm in.

          I agree with every word,

While this season progressed, I felt hope, but more so, for beyond this season. I felt like something was going to happen. It was a bit of hope more than fact, but sometimes your gut tells you something based on facts/observation/trends/history. Gut feeling is more intellectual than one may think.

Paton was the glue for me, and though I could not prove anything, I felt the possibilities. And therefore as some folks were tormented by the coaching and poor play at times, I kind of saw past some of it. Not that I liked all of it. And even still, as long as we were alive, I supported the group. Even felt we might land a wild card at times. Hey, playoffs are special, and in spite of some less than stellar play, I was hopeful we'd get at least one postseason game to watch.

But if we are correct, I am pumped, because as some teams slide backwards, there is nothing better than the ride going the other way. The way to the top.

And I'm pretty disgusted with our 2022 draft, just FYI.

I disagree, I will not disagree with you or anyone else on this board. I love all the new coaches hired, loathe them, and even sometimes am kind of meh about them. One thing for sure is I agree with you and the guy who disagrees with you.

No matter how much you want to Can, you can't make me disagree with you or anyone else. If they don't hire me as coach they are making a mistake. I am the only one who can lead th......

Now, I know everyone agrees with me.

As long as the draft a player that can play all of this at the same time QB/ILB/OLB/Safety at number 9 I will be all good. Otherwise, its the Blind leading the blind and it starts with Elway. He is a legend and great GM. See, look at me agreeing with those who love Elway the GM and those that loathe Elway the GM.

That's really why I don't post much on the boards is because I don't need anyone else to agree with me or disagree with me, I do both simultaneously with myself at all times. And yes, I am fun at parties!!!

I tend to agree and disagree with you.....please don't ask what I disagree with, or I will have to change my opinion.

I think we should agree to disagree or agree. Or both....

                      Agreed?

Seeing the current list of HC candidates and I really have no preference on who I want out of them. No fan truly knows anything about them from a leadership, coaching, schematic, and teaching perspective outside of cherry-picked stats and some clips where one may look at their personnel concepts.

At this point, I don’t care who is leading this team— I just want the results. I want wins. If good leadership is in place and players have bought in and are willing to go to war for this HC— that will lead to wins. If they have a great football mind or are wise enough to bring in excellent support staff and coordinators— that will lead to wins.

I think bringing in a particular coach to lure a particular QB is not the way to go.

Plus, I don't want the Broncos to use up the entire cap space to pay a QB 50 million a year.

Preferably, I would want to find a QB in the draft and spread the money around at other positions.

Huge QB contracts make teams die a slow death via cap space until they are bled dry. IE...Ravens-Flacco Seahawk-Wilson Falcons-Ryan
