Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

The concepts of “ players coach” or “fun relatable coach” or whatever label you prefer is an interesting one. Certainly a change has occurred over the years of what players want.
I am watching some of the Hackett clips or videos of him chattering constantly on the field. His (IMO) over the top positivity and joking around would get on my nerves pretty quick. Heard his Star Wars comments from an interview. Just seems trivial and too accommodating to please. IMO From all I have seen he is respected and has great relationships with his players.
This is definitely a “ me thing”. I am almost 60yrs old and my experiences with coaches was more the Drill Instructor, shake me by the face mask and cuss me out for a mistake. I thrived in that culture. I was willing to sacrifice, work and “run through a a wall” for them. I realize it is old school thought and wouldn’t work with today’s sensibilities and young men.
I understand that Hackett and the relationships he has with his players and staff is based on his personality as much as the Xs and Os and the reason he was hired. That being said, I hope Hackett is the HC needed to change the culture of the Broncos. He was not hired to relate to an old fan like me. Just get the kids ready to play every week.
I thought it was interesting, in the "behind the scenes" video, that one of the team members emphasized the players position that they wanted accountability. It was presented emphatically.
This implies the players may have been as frustrated by Fangio's lack of accountability as the fans have been. Maybe even frustrated with the front office's lack, as well. I hope that message was well received by Paton and communicated to Hackett.

I get what you're saying, and I agree with you. But we need a change and hopefully this will be the change that works.
I think so, and what I've noticed throughout the years is that our players and our team don't seem to have any fun. I no they should be taking it seriously, but it is after all a game, and it should be fun. And, I like the way coach said he wants to have fun and winning is fun!

Hes already an improvement. He said its about the players and staff...something you never heard from fangio or shurmur. All you heard was "trust the system"

I kind of wanted a head coach with head coaching experience. Nat seems like a good guy? He's Young and he's an offensive coordinator, so let's hope for the best.
Hopefully we will show Improvement immediately, and build on whatever good stuff we have going.

Did those who voted Hackett want him for his coaching skills, experience and leadership? Or because they believed the Broncos would trade for Rodgers with him on board?

Who do you want and/or with whom would you be good? Choose as many as you like —MULTIPLE CHOICES POLL.
The first ten options, from Mayo to Callahan, are actually on Broncos GM George Paton's current interview list. The bottom three before "other" are longshots but show up in betting sites —yes, even Peyton Manning!
Is Paton using some fake account to gain insight into the fan base?

They are also doing individual profiles of candidates including interviews with writers of the other teams' blogs at SBNATION and there's yes/no polls on each page. Some candidates have multiple articles with separate polls in each one and separate results so it's kind of chaotic. But here's a few of those (linked back to those pages if anyone here wants to read or vote):
Don’t know if its as black and white as that , tom brady said a few years ago that the 07 patriots was the best team he ever played on , spagnuolo stopped them in the super bowl but did very little against josh allen yesterday either , mahomes is heading to the very top any d coordinator would have a hard time stopping him.
Tyrone Matthieu was out. I’m sure a lot of that had to do with Spag’s defense looking the way it did last night. There’s a reason the Bills were attacking the deep middle of the field. Even the best coordinators look bad when their best players leave a game early…
