A new owner is likely to hire a new GM. Supposedly they expect a new owner this year. There’s a good chance this is George’s last year, unless he impresses the new owner.

fair enough but it wasn't my intention to mislead , as per post #9 i was only musing on his record in pro football , what was it 10 years 97 through 2006 and he's still searching for a formula , there isn't anything particularly striking about it is all i'm saying .

Paton has no record as a final decision maker beyond this season.

Plenty of underlings from successful teams have been hired to run a different team and failed miserably. I’m sure there have been many hired from mediocre or even bad teams that have gone on to do good things when given the chance to be the top decision maker.

Guess its possible but i doubt thats the case given the circumstances

but if im paton thats something i wouldve asked when i interviewed. Especially since he turned down other inquiries about being a gm elsewhere.

thats a ton of work to put in knowing that it doesnt matter what you do or how well you do your job that being fired after 2 seasons was inevitable

And Andy Reid was still maligned at least til he proved himself and won a SB....and then he did.
