  • Who was the bigger bust in Denver? Cutler?Osweiler?Lynch?Lock?

Who’s the biggest failure since Elway?
    -Bronco in UT

While I both agree and disagree with many posts in this thread I have to lean towards champ on this one. Jay really needs to learn how to manage the game better, and also to learn that you don't have to go for the big play EVERY time on every drive. There is something to be said to check the ball down and live to fight another day. -Great Post Cut the Excuses out please. sigh...

Cutler wasn't a bust, he was a good QB. Lynch was definitely a bust.
Jury is still out on Drew Lock.

Cutler was pretty ok in Denver, but a bust compared to where he was drafted.

The bigger bust has to be Cutler as he was drafted high after trading up and he drug a 13-3 down to 17-20 in his tenure. Cutler was also the best of those four though 2015 Osweiler was a huge success. Lynch - three games - none of us can know if he had any potential but he was expensive in draft capital. Lock in his own right has been instrumenental in cementing Broncos as a bottom tier club. None of the others ever got away with so little being demanded off them.

If you are talking about Bronco drafted QBs only....I would go with Lynch

All were pretty bad, even though I really hoped all were the right guy. Sure didn't work out that way....

We got nicely compensated in that trade for him.
Not that those draft picks turned into anything great, but we did get good trade value for him.

I was hoping to see what Chad Kelly would bring but he self-destructed.

It's sad that this is what it's come down to, discussing which pile of poo stinks more.

Lynch. He was Elways first big swing at QB and talk about a flameout. Couldn't even stick with the CFL. It set the tone for every QB free agent or draft since. All bad.

Paxton Lynch without a doubt. A first round selection in 2016 (QBs selected ahead of him were Goff and Wentz - not a great class), he only started 4 games and is now the third string QB at the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL.

That's the gamble you take when drafting QBs. Some pan out but most do not.
The question is: Will this year's draftee be another bust?

It's hard to believe now but at the time of the 2016 Draft some teams were really high on Lynch, even though he was a project. Jerry made no secret that he wanted him at the Cowboys and lamented that as the Broncos got there first, Dallas eventually decided they would have to settle for Dak in a later round.
