This is huge given the history. Not a lot of substance in what he said, and no one has corroborated yet though. Could get real interesting if other players from that team came forward and supported/elaborated on what DJ is saying. The vid was taken down. What did Marshall say about it?

Seriously though, how many times have you seen players after losing to the Patriots tell the media they knew exactly what they were running? I've seen that happen like 2 or 3 times.

This is not news, it's water under the bridge that was dubbed "Spygate 2" by sports media at the time. Some player corroboration doesn't really mean squat at this point because the team and McDoof were already investigated and fined, and the video guy, Steve Scarnecchia was fired. Scarnecchia was also involved in NE's Spygate 1 and was brought over by McDoof. Steve said he acted alone but nobody really believes that. A week later, McDoof was fired in-season and the scandal, an embarassment and stain on the franchise, was certainly a factor toward that decision, not just the losses at the time.

Instead of just reading what the article says, actually watch the video. In this video clearly they've had a couple of drinks already and LeSean McCoy stated that when talking to DJ as they disagreed on something, so in context of them being buzzed its easy to mis-speak or jump around the timeline of things. But being drunk doesn't necessarily discredit what he was saying to a certain extent. It's not like he was trashing the Broncos organization he was in a conversation with a group of friends.

prior to the quote "we was cheating" it was in the context of him and a teammate in the lunch room after going on a 3 game losing streak and DJ said "man, I knew we weren't that good....we was cheating." So based on that, its not like the players (maybe some did, maybe not) knew what was going on, they just did what McDaniels said to do and it worked.

That's why I cited "lack of substance and corroboration". Did you actually watch the clip? When he was talking about formations and plays he wasn't talking about the 9ers game.

I just watched the clip attached to the tweet. What DJ described is how well-prepared they were when they went 6-0 in 2009, and how McDoof gave specific instructions to the defense. In his opinion, it's because of the cheating, but it really doesn't stand as any kind of evidence because legit game tape analysis can produce insights and specific instructions too. He conflated 2009 with 2010 so he needs to get his memory checked or lay off the booze before interviews.

This is not to say that McDoof didn't gather intel through cheating from beginning to end though. But this is hardly "news" IMO.

Interestingly, Dan Quinn made Steve Scarnecchia assistant head coach of the Falcons in 2015 despite Steve's tarnished resume which includes involvement in two major cheating scandals.

McDaniels is a garbage human. I hate that he was part of the Broncos. My life would be complete if, by some divine intervention, the Patriots get completely busted for cheating during BB's tenure. An asterisk or revocation of the NE/TB12 super bowls would be beyond my greatest wish.
