Russell Wilson to Denver

I am a Seahawks fan, I think that fan passion is miss understood for petty, hypocrite, foolish take, smug, and a million more takes, the reality is some people need to be right and cannot except another view or opinion, just remember that without other teams and their passion, winning would not be half as fun.

Remember to call out an entire fan base for any team by the comments that are said by a few who post on any of these sites is just lashing out, there are good and bad fans on all teams.

I am a long time season ticket holder for the Hawks, and Russ has given us amazing highs and very few lows, having said that I sit in corner endzone seats that I love and you guys will get used to seeing Russ miss open receivers, but be able to pull a rabbit out of his hat a few plays later. Last year though the offensive line got a ton of blame for sacs that were not their faul, Russ would do what I call the turtle, where he drops back, gets spooked and puts his head down and only looks downfield after he gets away from his spin move and most of the time takes a sac from his reduced quickness and leaves the team 2nd or 3rd and 15 or more, hard to convert, he then throws for 13 yards and builds stats without first downs.
Nobody could predict this years outcome, I think Russ will rebound to a winning QB but I know from watching every snap of his carreer, it will not be a move the chains offense it will be some bad with a chunk play bail out.
I do not wish bad for the Broncos unless we play you, as a Seahawks fan I have experienxed years like this and they suck big time, appreciate the good times, cause they are not a given, you could be the Cowboys or the Niners that have no titles in 26 years. Good times ahead guys.

That's ok , you weren't paid big money to know if a player was really worth much any more, or if he would an asset or a liability to the team.

I never really liked Russell Wilson after SB 48, but I was hoping that he would at least be able to move our offense down the field, and score some points for us, and win some games. I didn't know he was going to do a "Joe Flacco" on us.
He has been an epic failure so far in Denver.
He really has been a tremendous disappointment.

To be honest….about all I knew about him was he had a Plane ✈️ of his own, I had recently seen on a L.A. plane spotting thingy.
so looked up WHY…(embassador of some sort for that business?). I could be wrong.
anywho….then found out he was an athlete.

I was hoping for a better season as we all were…
quickly saw our money( and LOTS and LOTs of it, going down the drain.)
The amount of money we payed was an eye opener for sure,

If you are not in this 100%, just retire. Paton screwed this franchise. I am not sure how Hackett and Paton are still with Broncos.

Wilson looks like he has dropped about 20lbs, at least. He is looking a little slimmer and I know that was a big area of concern for a lot of people. He is putting in the work so there is some glimmer of hope that he can rebound.

Bottom line is few QBs in the history of the game can carry a team.

Some of us though Wilson was that good. He is not. Fewer qbs still can carry a team and carry a coaching staff like PM.

Wilson is still a good QB I think. One does not build his resume without being good. IMO SP is a good head coach. We will see what Wilson is actually made of this year.

Last year coming in he definitely looked 'fat and happy' when he got to Denver, like he was content and thought he could just pick up where he left off.

Last year had to have humbled him...whether or not he uses it to self improve remains to be seen. But him looking a little leaner is good sign that maybe he realized he needed to make some changes about himself, physically and mentally.

At least RW will be functioning in an actual offensive system in which he can concentrate on execution of what is called. He has sufficient experience to recognize and process what he sees.

But it does not sit well with me that he realized he had to make such a dramatic change in fitness and attitude. Speaks to the casual commitment he made to a team that traded quite a bit for him. And a community that embraced him. Why did it take a season of being ridiculed for him to to take his job and leadership role seriously.

He has a lot to prove this coming season IMO.

Aren't almost all humans like that? Why make a change in your life if things are always going your way? It takes a humiliation moment on your life for your eyes to be opened. We all have certain things in our lives that we don't want to let go of. We are all stiff necked and have a hard time listening to reason

It could be said getting RW and SP than paying RW a huge deal cost the Broncos 8 starters or key backups.

Now the Broncos have given up 3 first round picks (2 for RW and 1 for SP) and 3 second round picks (2 for RW and 1 for SP). These two need to show their deserved to be traded for this much. That is potentially 6 starters on rookie contracts for 4 years each. Probably 2 or so would have been good starters.

RWs contract is another point I get why people not happy. I think Seattle traded RW because his cap hit was 15.5% and 17.5% of the total cap his last two years in Seattle. Some qbs deserve large cap hits but I do not think RWs does. Some talk is RW wanted another deal. Denver gave it to him. The cap will probably go up as RW's cap number goes up but right now he will go over 19% of our cap. This is probably another 1 or 2 starters in terms of cap space dedicated to RW that could have gone to another QB.

I get why many fans are frustrated.

My take is the Broncos have been bad at drafting QBs for decades and picking head coaches for almost ten years now.

We really will not know if all this was worth it or not until another 4-5 years.

If I was the new owners I would take a hard look at the franchise and figure out why is is historically bad at drafting Qbs. It may take years to correct the issue.
