Better sooner than later. He was gonna be gone next year anyway due to head coaching opportunities. Might as well get a DC that wants to be here and build continuity with the defense.

He's a good coach that players respond to. In my opinion he was the best coach on our staff. Unfortunately I don't think he is ready to be a Head Coach right now but I think he will be some day, and that day isn't all that far off. A very long time ago one of my bosses gave me a management book to read and one of the things that stuck with me was the warning of "small giants and tall pygmies." That is, sometimes the group that a person performs in will influence your perception of them. Outten is a tall pygmy. In a group of Offensive guys who were failing he had some success and probably looked better than he really is. Ejiro Evero is not. He's the real deal and I wish him well unless he's coaching against my Broncos.

Thank you Ejiro for providing us with some very fond memories and getting the best out of a unit that was perceived to be a team weakness at the begining of the season.
