They won 4-5 games this year, clean this stank out from Hackett, I could be the DC and lose 13 games next year

We lost like 9 games by a single possession simply because our defense carried us and made nearly every game competitive. Had we averaged 4-5 more points a game, we would have been in the playoffs. But yea I am sure you could coach a top 5 defense no problem.

He clearly doesn’t want to be here in any capacity. Bye. Thanks for your time.

Zimmer took the defensive coordinator job at Colorado

I will miss Evero, he did a great job! I would like Flores or Desai here

I have mixed feelings about his release.
He was smart enough not to change Vic Fangio's defensive system and he may have even been a better defensive play caller.
On the other hand, I always thought that much of his success might be on the backs of his predecessors.
He will probably move laterally to the Minnesota DC job and we will then see how well he does at installing a system of his own.
If he is as good as people believe him to be, then the move will be good for him for as long as it lasts.
I don't think he has enough experience yet to be a great head coach. A good one, maybe, but greatness takes time.
I also think the Broncos did the right thing to release him at his request. It shows long-term thinking on their part.
Firstly, why keep a guy that doesn't want to be here? Secondly, he will remember the cooperation given when he wanted to go.
In a decade or less, he may be available as a head coach with some head coaching experience and we may want him then.
We get to be the good guys that let him explore other avenues rather than the bad guys that blocked his perceived career growth.
Still, I would have liked to see him stay and further prove himself here with players that liked working with him.

Good luck in your future Ejiro and please remember us fondly.

No surprise. He's in a position most coaches dream about, with a lot of options.

                        Wish him well.

I read a report we blocked his interview for a DC for another team before we got our HC

He did a great job for us. Ultimately I support the new HC putting his people in place because if the team struggles it will be his head on the plate

You make an interesting point, but I didn't feel we were competitive in most of those close games. It always felt like the opposition could score more if they needed to.

Undoubtedly the D was a beacon of light/hope, but it just seemed like the games won, where more by default.

A strange move to replace a proven DC with a less proven one in Desai.
