Maybe 25 rushing attempts but I am guessing 5-10 pass catches a game as well.
NFL offenses usually run about 65 plays per game give or take. It varies depending on the way the game goes.

Payton ran his version of Air Coryell in New Orleans. It's a vertical passing attack which is why they drafted Mims. Figure up to 40 pass attempts, but all of these won't be completions.

RBs will be targeted and the routes they run usually have a high completion %. Air Coryell reads deep first, then intermediate and short last. Your guess of 5-10 would probably be targets with a high percentage being catches.

It's starting to look like most of Payton's Backs are big. Badie and McLaughlin are the only change of pace types left, so far. Sounds like they signed XFL guy Jacques Patrick who is c. 6'3" 235 and a good receiver. Denver will probably have three RBs on the roster and a couple on the PS.

Good post Sam. I am super excited to see what SP does with our running and short passing game. I think when some analysis say the short passing game is essentially an extension of the run game they thinking a lot of the offense SP runs.

I also think like you mentioned else where there will be deep plays with check downs when the deep play is not there.

Imo this overall plan is how an offense can he explosive yet still stay on the field getting first downs between big plays.

This will be the offense with an overall larger plan that we never saw last year. Tbh we have not seen a good example of since Kubes left.
Get ourself up, learn what we can and keep moving forward.

Samaje Perine seems like the perfect choice to hold down the fort while waiting for Javonte Williams to return to form. With the upgrades to the offensive line and a true commitment to running the ball, the Broncos should get what they want from the running game.

At the moment Denver has five big inside the tackles types (Williams, Perine, Jones, Patrick, Crockett) and three change of pace speed guys (McAllister, Badie, Mclaughlin) Remains to be seen how many RBs will be on the roster and PS.

How long do you think before AI starts calling the plays?

Wish AI called plays last year. Actually even if random dice rolls called plays I think things would have gone better. Wait now that I think about it maybe Hackett did have someone rolling dice to call plays. It would explain a lot.

I figured Russ loaned him a Magic 8 Ball.

Broncos are down to just 5 RB's after cutting Damarea Crockett. They signed WR Nick Williams that played 5 seasons at CSU-Pueblo, he also played a season at UNLV. Interesting that they now have 13? WR's currently. I wonder, does that say something about being comfortable with the RB's they have but want to see more talent at WR? Maybe they feel they can rely on Javonte being healthy? Seems like they have an abundance of talent at WR, already have a few WR's that have potential, adding another doesn't seem like that player has much of a chance to make the roster.

Sean Payton can't think that RB room is ok. It's one of the worst RB rooms in the NFL.

So nice to have quality RBs in Thunder & Lightning. AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones. I can't imagine having your top two backs being Williams and Perine. Anyone gets hurt and it's Tony Jones Jr. Yikes!

LOL...Seriously?? Juice said it best. I would argue that Perine is better than Dillon. Samaji is an excellent all around back, great in the passing game. For as big as Dillon is he goes down WAY too easy and big boys like that have very short windows in the league.
