  • Brandon McManus Appreciation Thread

Was very solid, thanks for the memories. Was a luxury having Him and Elam for the longest time and not have to worry about the kicking position

Just got the notification… sad, I liked the guy. All the best to him, he’s good enough to be somewhere in September.

Puzzling decision. Most reliable offensive player for several seasons and not really declining much. Appreciate his contributions. Guessing it came down to cost cutting. Hope the decision does not come back to bite them in a critical situation with a new kicker.

So currently the Broncos do not have a K or P. Bold moves in the rebuild.

Will be interesting to see how it gets resolved. Any word yet on a potential replacement for either?

Just looked up his contract. Ow even more confused. I was expecting to see a salary savings. McManus contract is $5m savings but a $2.5m dead money cost. So a reasonable priced kicker is $2.5m. So still $5m against the cap?

Maybe a cap guru can explain my misunderstanding. Or the release has nothing to do with cost cutting?

This team has done nothing and I mean nothing to instill any confidence in me as a fan. Dumb decision after dumb decision. The only dude we can rely on is now gone, We scored only 29 TDs last year, he made 28 FGs.

Was only a matter of time. I'll miss him for sure. Every time he stepped up to a 50 yard attempt you just knew he was going to make it.

Not sure of the distances on each, but he was 40/72 from 50+ in his nine year career, so far.

Let's not forget about Prater as well, who's still booming them.

I liked McManus and he was money before he got his money...then he was closer to 50/50 once his fat pockets started weighing down his kicking leg

Some of those attempts were pretty long.

Huge part of our Superbowl run. Great guy but reliability was starting to become a problem last year. He won't be out of a job. Future ring of famer

Last guy from Superbowl team. Appreciate all he did for us.

Unfortunately the money was going up and the reliability was going down. It's a business.

His departure makes me wonder if it all started with Dip$hit's decision to have him kick a 156 yard field goal against Seattle in the '22 opener.

Saints under Payton... The kicking carousel was bad. Seems spending any cap on a kicker is a no go in Payton's eyes.
