Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Who needs a kicker if you are scoring TD's all game long lol and just going for two every time lol. After last year's performance where he missed 8 FG's it is more than time to move on from McManus. Thank You for SB50 McMoney.
Puzzling decision. Most reliable offensive player for several seasons and not really declining much. Appreciate his contributions. Guessing it came down to cost cutting. Hope the decision does not come back to bite them in a critical situation with a new kicker.
So currently the Broncos do not have a K or P. Bold moves in the rebuild.
Will be interesting to see how it gets resolved. Any word yet on a potential replacement for either?
Just looked up his contract. Ow even more confused. I was expecting to see a salary savings. McManus contract is $5m savings but a $2.5m dead money cost. So a reasonable priced kicker is $2.5m. So still $5m against the cap?
Maybe a cap guru can explain my misunderstanding. Or the release has nothing to do with cost cutting?
They brought back Riley Dixon to punt, unless they’ve already cut him too.
As for McManus, maybe they think it’s just time to move on.
You're Wrong! Recognize That You're Wrong!
Move On
He never made any important kicks. 🤷🏾♂️ As a matter of fact he shrunk during big moments.

While I both agree and disagree with many posts in this thread I have to lean towards champ on this one. Jay really needs to learn how to manage the game better, and also to learn that you don't have to go for the big play EVERY time on every drive. There is something to be said to check the ball down and live to fight another day. -Great Post Cut the Excuses out please. sigh...
I was surprised by this. I liked McManus, but he was a little erratic - in both kicking and antics. Still, he was a solid kicker. I hope his replacement is worthy.
I had forgotten about Dixon returning. Had to look up the signing.
He was not listed on the team roster I looked at. My oversight. Thanks for the assist.
Riley's resigning was barely a footnote in the press. Like you I couldn't see him on the current Roster.
Did read that SP hates to spend a dime on Kickers/Punters... Evidently he is quick to change up if he gets unhappy. This seems like an apparent contradiction.
Kicker Brandon McManus has quickly found a new home, signing Thursday with the Jaguars after being released by the Broncos earlier this week.
The Jaguars on Thursday signed kicker Brandon McManus, who won a Super Bowl title during his nine seasons with the Denver Broncos.
To make room for McManus, the Jaguars waived kicker Riley Patterson.
McManus, 31, made 77.8% of his field goal attempts last season (28 for 36), which was the first time since 2017 that he had made less than 80%. McManus has made 81.4% of his field goal attempts in his nine-year career.
The Broncos released McManus on Tuesday. He had been the last remaining player from the team's Super Bowl 50 championship squad.
Patterson, 23, who kicked a 36-yard field goal as time expired to help the Jaguars beat the Los Angels Chargers31-30 in an AFC divisional playoff game this past January, made 30 of his 35 field goal attempts last season.
He was money in 2015, since then he's been rather pedestrian.
McManus was 29th in the league in field goal percentage last year (minimum 20 attempts).
He was also 30th in the league in extra point percentage (minimum 20 attempts).
