    Dude that's strike three.

    Neither of those two.

I guessed one of these guys right away but the other one made me think a bit.

        • Today's Question:

Including his years in Oakland and including postseason games, Mike Shanahan's teams won 125 of his first 200 career games as a head coach. Can you name the only two men to win more of their first 200?

The two guys we were looking for are Joe Gibbs with the Washington Redskins and Bud Grant with the Minnesota Vikings. Both of these coaches won 130 games.

Today is Friday January 16th, the 16th day of the year with 349 to go.

32 days until the DTV Transition. News reports this morning said this may be delayed until June 12th.

            It is:

            Bald Eagle Appreciation Day
            Religious Freedom Day

            Our 2009 Opponents:

            Home

AFC West: Kansas City ~ Oakland ~ San Diego
            Cleveland ~ Pittsburgh ~ Dallas ~ N.Y. Giants ~ New England

            Away

AFC West: Kansas City ~ Oakland ~ San Diego
            Baltimore ~ Cincinnati ~ Philadelphia ~ Washington ~ Indianapolis

            Today's Fun Fact:

The Broncos won 33 of their 46 November games from 1995, when Mike Shanahan took over as coach, through 2006.

I've got a hunch one might be Bill Parcells ...and for the other, maybe Tony Dungy.

EDIT: Oops. I see I'm a day late and a dollar short. ...On top of having the wrong answer.

              Best of luck, TT!

sbutk: i can see why Denver is taking TO's right now [trailing by 7, with 30 seconds left in the half]. but why Oakland???

Captain Lori: You are trying to figure out the Raiders. Try figuring out women instead; it's probably much easier.

Today is Saturday January 17th, the 17th day of the year with 348 to go.

31 days until the DTV Transition. This may be delayed until June 12th. Hawaii has already converted.

                It is:

                Customer Service Day
                Hot Heads Chili Days
                Kid Inventors' Day
                Judgment Day
                Ditch New Years Resolutions Day

                January 18th is:

                Thesaurus Day
                Do Dah Parade Day
Winnie The Pooh Day (Author A.A. Milne's Birthday)
                World Religion Day

                Our 2009 Opponents:

                Baltimore ~ Cincinnati ~ Philadelphia ~ Washington ~ Indianapolis

Here's our question for the weekend of January 17th/18th:

Mike Shanahan led the Broncos to a pair of Super Bowl vitories within his first four seasons as coach (he took over in 1995). Can you name the only other two coaches also to win the NFL's biggest game twice in their first four seasons?

                        You're half right.

Bill Belichick is one of them. Lombardi is not.

EDIT: The key here is Super Bowls and not NFL Championships. Super Bowl I was played in 1967 and Vince took over the Packers in 1959.

                        Vince Lombardi

                        • I confused myself.

Vince Lombardi was named the head coach of the Packers in '59 and won the first two AFL-NFL Championships (later to be named the "Super Bowl"). But those WEREN'T his first 4 years. Just the first two of the Super Bowl.

Getting a cup of coffee...I know I'll get this if I think hard enough.

HOW could I forget about Czonk's MVP in SB 8 and Shula's second straight SB win??

                                Geez.

I was thinking Tom Flores too...but I think it took him 5 years to win his second Super Bowl.

That's a good trivia question too.
