Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Rulon Jones had an incident at Utah State where he assaulted someone with a tire iron. This caused him to fall in the draft so we got him in the second round. He wouldn't talk about the incident other than to say he was in a daze when it happened. Because of this incident in college his nickname was "Too Mean", which he hated.
Thanks for the clarity. The article I read did not mention any of these things. Don't get me wrong but even though I also enjoyed watching Rulon play but he was not nearly as animated as Alzado. Alzado would not be able to play with the new pansy rules of football.

I am sorry about letting this thread go but I am having some health issues and have not been able to post much. I am fighting arthritis in both my hands and shoulders and it has forced me to go see a pain specialist to deal with it. Needless to say some of the meds make me kind of loopy. I didn't want to tell anyone on the boards but last Oct (2015) I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that metastasized to my brain.
The brain radiation treatment I had has made it hard for me to concentrate and to see things through. I often have a hard time remembering things short term and I know I am driving my wife nuts but she has been great through all of this. The worse thing about this whole thing is they won't let me drive any more which has been hard for me to come to terms with especially since even if I forgot how to drive I would still be a better driver than half the people on the road, especially the ones staring at their phones while driving.
Well I didn't want to disrupt the boards with bad news so there were only a very few that I told. I had been going through treatments but have become allergic to the chemo so the doctors are trying to find some other treatments that might work for me.
I did not want this to become a big deal here on the boards but I also felt that you should know since I consider all of you my Broncos family. If there are any volunteers that would like to carry on this thread I am sure there would be no complaints.
Thanks for your thoughts and concerns.

Brian, thank you for sharing this. The important thing is to take care of yourself. Thank you for keeping this thread going as long as you did. I know it was difficult finding questions that would be a challenge for this group.
So true about drivers and their phones. I'm adamant about not driving and using my phone. Until yesterday. At a red light, I checked something, looked up and it's like, where did the car go? So I gassed it to catch up and pretended that nothing happened.

Brian,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Your story is pretty moving, especially as, for many of us, coming in to the holiday, it often give pause for the gift of life and how fragile it is and makes us extra thankful for the loved ones around us.
Thank you for not giving up. You have a lot of fans rooting for you.
