The text for those who don't want the link:

The Broncos got a head start before Tuesday’s cutdown to a 75-man roster by releasing eight players, led by defensive linemen Kenard Lang and Demetrin Veal and wide receiver David Kircus.

Others who were absent as the team began preparations for the final pre-season game Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals included kicker Brandon Pace, wide receiver David Terrell, running backs Cedric Cobbs and Troy Fleming and tight end Teyo Johnson.

Finally, Kircus is gone! I never could stand that guy. I was so sick of fans telling me how awesome that guy was gonna be because he made a couple good catches in the preseason.

Not sure why, but here's a thread with some interesting speculation...

Lang never rose above #3 on the depth chart and didn't even play the last game. He doesn't play the run well and is small and lite. He's always been a pass-rush specialist, but Dumervil came along and does that better than Lang. So . . . . Dumervil's development made Lang expendable.

Now it looks like Dumervil is starting, which means the team is satisfied with his run stopping ability. Moss will come in on passing downs to provide even more pass-rush ability. I imagine that Dumervil will switch over to the LE in place of Engleberger on passing downs and let Moss play the right.

I really don't understand why that guy couldn't rise higher on the depth chart. It just seems like he never had a chance from day 1. At least we don't have to live with them keeping no names like David Kircus over him like last year.

Funny, I don't see Foxworth on that list!

I guess it's not quite the "last cut in TC" yet though

Aside from the fact that we have so much depth at the position, the most surprising cut to me out of that list is Cobbs. He has looked pretty good.

I think Lang and Kircus were mistakes.

I liked the way Cobbs was running last preseason. I would rather see him than Bell. Bell never has impressed me he seems to be just an average back.

Didn't we just bring Cobb back last week??? I guess he was just a fill in for a week as a body being that Bell and Henry were out....

Ohh well... as for Kircus and Terrell hey what can you say they are trying to keep a spot for Rod Smith and you now have Stokley in the mix.... can't keep everyone....

As for the D-line.... who knows what is going on right now!!!! but hopefully we'll see something positive soon.
