  • Stokely swears by Manning after weekend workout in Denver

While visiting the Denver Broncos, free-agent quarterback Peyton Manning threw passes to former Indianapolis Colts teammate Brandon Stokely last Saturday morning in an area, with Stokely saying "he looks great," according to The Denver Post.

Stokely, a free agent as well, said Manning threw about 50 passes to him while he ran routes in a Castle Rock, Co., park, via the Post.

"People who say the Broncos are crazy for not watching his balls fly, or what are they doing? those people are dead wrong," Stokley told the newspaper. "I'll put whatever reputation I have on the line behind that guy right now. He looks great."

Stokely also told the Post that Manning stayed at his home Friday night, with Stokely driving him to the airport Saturday evening for his visit with the Arizona Cardinals.

Manning had visited with the Broncos on Friday before meeting with the Cardinals on Sunday. He is expected to meet with the Miami Dolphins as early as today and the Tennessee Titans this week as well.

    Let's get this done, Manning.

Now, how about some young, breakout talent? Sure, being great next year would be awesome. Call me greedy, but I want to be great for TEN years.

Good to see Stokely still living in the Denver area.

Chalk up another positive against the 'Denver is too cold' argument.

Along with Champ, John Lynch and Elway, who all grew up in warm climates yet live in Denver year round.

HOPING TO SEE MORE OF THIS IN 2012

ESPN’s John Clayton reported that McKenzie is expected to review Jackson’s performance for the next week or so. Clayton reports that the odds favor Jackson staying in Oakland, but a decision has not been made. "I still get the feeling Jackson will end up being retained." 3 1/2 HOURS LATER, THE RAIDERS FIRED JACKSON.....GOOD CALL CLAYTON

                I jusat read that

After reading that if we have a prayer in hell of getting Manning we need to do it. I was waiting for a reliable source as to the condition of his arm.

That seals it for me, GET PEYTON

My fault. I just copied it directly from the news article. (I did correct a spelling error in the body, but didn't even get that! haha)

I say we sign both Stokley and Manning.

I'd love to hear a 2012 version of "STOKLEY DOWN THE SIDE LINE" after a Manning completion vs the Chargers.

How cool would it have been to be riding your bike or walking your dog or something through that park, and come around the corner and see Peyton Manning tossing the pigskin to Stokley. I love stories like that.

And I agree, I don't know the guy personally, but I lend more credence to Stokley's take after catching balls from the guy, than a bunch of ESPN or BCMB speculation.

                          ^^^

I'd be like, "Hey Stoke, can I play some CB on ya?"

Dude if all goes well I'll be moving there in August and I freaking hate the cold.... Denver's cold weather is nothing like Kansas's cold.... When it's the same temperature in Kansas and Denver I've always felt like the cold felt worse in Kansas, maybe just cuz Kansas sucks....
