I think it has to do with DJ's availablity being suspended 6 games,we need more depth at the position as a result.

I know! Would of expected Page to get more than that.

  • LB Steven Johnson gets top signing bonus among Broncos 13 undrafted rookies

If money is any indication, the most coveted of the Broncos’ undrafted free agents is linebacker Steven Johnson.

The former Kansas Jayhawk received a $12,000 signing bonus, highest among the 13 undrafted rookies the Broncos acquired after the draft.

Other undrafted players who received decent signing bonuses were cornerback Coryell Judie, defensive end Jamie Blatnik and linebacker Jerry Franklin, who each received $10,000. Duke Ihenacho, a safety, signed for $8,500.

Then again, money is not always an indicator. The only undrafted rookie who made the Broncos’ active, 53-man roster last year was Chris Harris, who received a relatively small signing bonus of $2,000.

Teams used to be able to sign undrafted free agents for up to $20,000 but the dollar pool for such players shrunk considerably with the new collective bargaining agreement.

Teams now have roughly $76,500 total to sign undrafted rookies. A list of the signing bonuses for the 13 undrafted Broncos:

    Steven Johnson, linebacker, $12,000
    Coryell Judie, cornerback, $10,000
    Jerry Franklin, linebacker, $10,000
    Jamie Blatnik, defensive end, $10,000
    Duke Ihenacho, safety, $8,500
    Anthony Miller, tight end, $5,000
    Mike Remmers, offensive tackle, $5,000
    Aaron Brewer, long snapper, $4,000
    Gerrell Robinson, receiver, $3,500
    Elliot Coffey, linebacker, $3,000
    Austin Wuebbels, guard, $2,500
    Wayne Tribue, $2,000
    Eric Page, receiver, $1,085
