Denver Broncos only dress four receivers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
    By Mike Klis
    The Denver Post

With Andre Caldwell deactivated, the Broncos are only dressing four receivers: Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas, Matt Willis and Brandon Stokley. And Stokley is primarily a slot guy.

If one of the outside receivers gets dinged, tight end Julius Thomas would primarily fill in. He was supposed to be the emergency receiver last year in Game 2 against Cincinnati, but when Julius Thomas suffered an ankle injury, backup quarterback Tim Tebow became the third receiver.

Tebow got in for three plays with John Fox and Mike McCoy deciding to go most of the game with two receiver sets.

Feel bad for Caldwell, he came here to play with Peyton.

Goes to show it is not all about talent and skills...pretty sure Caldwell is better WR then Stokes just Stokes knows Peyton better.

And Stokley doesn't drop every pass.

Stokes was running some pretty crisp routes. He isnt fast anymore but he was creating some serious separation coming out the routes he ran.

Stokley was never really "fast". He makes quick cuts & runs good routes, as a WR playing with Peyton thats all you need to do.

i mean he isnt fast compared to his younger self. His routes are probably what kept Caldwell off the field because its not speed lol

Caldwell kept himself of the the field with his abysmal pre-season performance.

More surprised that Hillman didn't dress today. Kinda bummed. Hope he gets a chance to play against the Falcons.

Tamme isn't really a TE because he doesn't often line up tight; he can be considered TE/WR/H-Back.

Not surprised by the decision to only dress 4WR. I've always said that this is going to be a "TE Friendly Offense" and I love Knowshon catching ability. NO, i'm not saying that Knowshon is Marshall Faulk, but he definately can be used that way.

Caldwell didn't dress because his ribs are still bothering him and Hillman's hamstring is bothering him a little bit so they decided not to take the risk.
