I wish I could make people watch movies, it'd really help out my references to said movies.

              +1 man

Stripes is a great classic no matter how old someone is.

The Jerk is maybe Steve Martin's best movie.

It still cracks me up to see pasty white Steve Martin say, "I was born a poor black child."

Huh? My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi...

One of my favorite movies of all time

Shouldn't we be picking Top 5 Comedies? Either way, some good choices in here.

                          Comedies:

                          1. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
                          2. Dumb and Dumber
                          3. Tommy Boy
                          4. Black Sheep
                          5. Liar Liar

No particular order of course and could easily be interchanged. Manning's list is great too. I dunno if you could count Dr. Strangelove as a comedy or not but that one is pretty funny. If you can put a movie in at any given time after you've seen it countless times and still roll with laughter like it's your first time, then it probably did a good job.

                          As for non-comedy Top 5:

                          (I only have a definitive Top 3)

                          1. Top Gun
                          2. Jurassic Park
                          3. Gladiator

I think I'm the only one on the planet that cannot stand the Monty Python films.

haha. I dunno... I think it's because The Holy Grail had been hyped up SO much to me before I saw it that by the time I finally did see it, I just didn't see what was so funny. I get British dry humor too. I love British humor...but those movies... I dunno man.

I even had to watch The Holy Grail again in school and I thought: "alright, maybe it'll be like The Big Lebowski and I'll start liking it..." but no... it wasn't better the second time around either.
