  • Another DUI swept under the rug

Quentin Saulsberry adds to Broncos' DUI problems with arrest in May dpo.st/145Cber

    This is becoming an issue

Not suprised with DUI comming out with a player.

What i am suprised is how Elway and company are hiding these DUI's from their organization..
This looks EXTREMELY BAD for Elway and Bowlen!!! NFL will probably step in now!

First of all, who is Quentin Saulsberry? Secondly, this was discovered because the Post did a search of state records. That means they are digging up crap; or better translated, it's a witch hunt.

^^^^^^^^Absolutley. I am kinda tired of hearing how they are hiding it. What are they suppose to come out with a huge announcement and press conference every time someone in the organization has a problem wether it be dui or whatever. I don't think any other employer makes it a policy to advertise that sort of thing, nor do I think its really a requirement for us to know. Yes its public record so it can be found out, but those are issues within the Broncos organization and Imo should be kept that way. Now if somebody pulls a Hernandez, I might think differently , but personnally its been kinda nice not having it splattered everywhere via the Brandon Marshal route. People make mistakes including our beloved Bronco's I hope that the FO does everything they can to deal with anybody involved in a personal and professional manner. It looks to me like they are doing so

The reporters are doing what they should do. The NFL is very public and they know that. Actually, the reporters wern't doing their job since they didn't uncover this earlier. You might call it a witch hunt. I call it a very bad light for the Broncos becasue it wasn't taken care of right away when the first one came up. Hopefully we won't uncover a 4th one.

It is just reporters doing their job.

What I would really like to read about is all the options these guys have to avoid getting a dui yet it still halpens.

Read somewhere the NFL players have a number they can call to get a ride.

Pretty sure the team offers something.

Pretty sure friends on the team would give a ride.

Every player in the NFL makes six figures or more... ALL of them can afford a taxi. Dunno how much execs make.

This is definately scraping the bottom of the barrel for news but lets be real...the shame lies solely on those getting DUIs not reporters and editors finding boring news.

Tho it would be interesting to see someone turn the tables on reporters and make their life public.
Time to build on the win and grow the team from some solid play higher level of play

How do we know it wasn't taken care of though? While it's possible that they didn't know about Russell (due to it being reported the next day) but with Heckert and Saulsberry, they likely already knew about it. They wouldn't have had to do anything to Heckert or Saulsberry if it wasn't for Russell playing bumper cars with cops. Elway isn't going to just come out and tell everyone, why would he? He had probably already dealt with Heckert and Saulsberry prior to Russell.

Next thing we're going to hear will be about Quinton Carter getting arrested for cheating at a casino...

While I do tend to agree with the Witch Hunt view, it's a very public organization in the most popular US sport. And with all the negative light the NFL is coming under with the recent high profile arrest and the high profile DUI issues the past few seasons, it's open season on any slight negative issue on any and everybody involved with the NFL. It's almost to the point where teams might as well release a statement for the press for any legal issues that arise with players and/or personnel. This stops them from digging and shows that the organization is being proactive to discipline/ help the individual(s) in question.

actually, the NFLPA resrtricts how the broncos handle a PLAYERS indiscretions !
So the broncos were restricted in offering info to the press.
same with the coaches and their union.
3 bronco DUIs in the same summer, I can hear the "mile high jokes' already !

Interesting. So basically the situation is "handcuffed" in a manner that will always put the team at the mercy of the media digging through the police blotter.

What do you expect in Colorado? The moment you have pine tree apathy, your to-do list suddenly evaporates.

FWIW, the media only checked colorado state records!
a member of the broncos could have commited a DUI in another state and we would not know about it.
