Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I'm not too impressed,
I usually average about 30 offensive plays per (5 minute quarters) quarter on Madden,
so I expected it last night.
I'm also expecting 60+ points on game days.
Anything less is un-Madden-like and a FAILURE!
I'm even more unimpressed,
I have won the superbowl over and over again and not lost a game since Madden came out. I could beat every team in the NFL right now, did I also mention my Tim Teblow can throw, and always have 5000+ passing yard seasons.
Our offense is playing fast.. really really fast. The Broncos had 30 offensive plays in the 1st quarter. That's ridiculous!!! I just hope it leads to more points in the regular season.

The OP need's to get off Hillman, he's certainly not 'terrible'. He's a young guy (youngest player on the team in fact) that is still learning. Young backs tend to go through this (remember Tiki Barber?) Last night, that was a good play by Ogletree to rip the ball out. I expect that it will cost Hillman his starting spot come the opener, but he is still going to play and he is going to contribute.
Moreno should start, with Ball and Hillman filling in. I always felt Hillman's best role was as a backup anyway, as he's better suited as a third down back.

My reaction was that we should have not passed on Ogletree to take Williams with the #1 pick. This supports my belief that Elway/Fox have room to improve when judging talent.
I agree
Frankly I don't know why they didn't go after any of those talented MLB's.

My instant reaction. Thank god it's over and in a few days the preseason is history. Hate these games because all I are about is our boys not coming out injured. Like the Hawks game.
lol Fox' presser ended making a joke about Manning's working on his wet ball mechanics. Vid is on DB.com. The conference room laughed and Fox excused himself. lol
Team seems loose after a decent showing. Glad they could give the fans a win to take home. I things coming together a bit.
I also thought Dierdorf's comment about Manning hurrying to catch a defender leaving the field for a penalty, "Peyton is just mean-spirited". lol
I actually felt like there was an imbalance in the universe hearing so many compliments from Dan Dierdorf. He usually lets the Broncos have it
Ever the perfectionist, Peyton Manning momentarily stepped back on the field long after his night was concluded just so he could lob a few more passes in a steady drizzle.
The Denver Broncos' quarterback made his reappearance during a break in the action to hone his "wet-ball mechanics," coach John Fox joked after a 27-26 preseason win over the St. Louis Rams on Saturday night.
Utilizing an up-tempo offense, Manning & Co. were virtually unstoppable against the Rams' starting defense.
That is, until the Broncos stopped themselves by turning the ball over four times, including a fumble from Ronnie Hillman which rookie linebacker Alec Ogletree scooped up and returned for a TD.
"It's disappointing when you don't take care of the ball," said Manning, who finished 25 of 34 for 234 yards, a TD and an interception. "Four turnovers in a game is not what you want to do."
Here are five things we learned from a game in which the Broncos (2-1) and Rams (0-3) played a bulk of their starters in the first half:
1. GROUND PROBLEMS: Just when it looked like Hillman had the starting job all but locked up, he fumbled. Again.
For the second straight game, Hillman's turnover was returned for a TD. The week before in Seattle, Hillman's miscue at the goal line was taken 106 yards for a score.
This time, Ogletree ripped the ball out of Hillman's hands and trotted 13 yards for a score.
"I still have great confidence," Fox said of Hillman.
Meanwhile, rookie Montee Ball had a productive game, rushing for 43 yards and a score. Knowshon Moreno was solid, too, finishing with 33 yards rushing. He added another 42 on three catches.
2. ELECTRIC AUSTIN: Rookie Tavon Austin showed his explosiveness, fielding a punt in the first quarter and racing 81 yards. Had his blockers been able to actually block punter Britton Colquitt, Austin could've scored. No worries, though, Sam Bradford threw a short TD pass on the next play.
Austin returned two punts for 104 yards. He also had one catch for 12 yards.
"I felt good for the most part," Austin said.
3. STILL MILLER'S TIME: Even though he's staring at a six-game suspension, defensive end/linebacker Von Miller played a majority of the first half with the first-team unit. The Pro Bowler finished two tackles.
After the game, Miller declined to talk about his performance.
With Miller soon to be sidelined for violating the NFL's drug-abuse policy, Shaun Phillips will be counted on to step up.
"I didn't come here to be a cheerleader," Phillips said.
4. ELITE COMPANY: The youthful St. Louis secondary is receiving quite an early test. Last week, the Rams went up against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. On Saturday, it was Manning.
"He's a heck of a player and it's good to see him in the preseason," defensive end Chris Long said.
It doesn't get any easier on Thursday when the Rams face Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens.
"We have a young secondary, so I think it gives our guys a chance to play against the best," linebacker James Laurinaitis said.
5. NOT SO SPECIAL TEAMS: The Broncos surrendered a long return, had a field goal attempted blocked and muffed a punt. Not exactly a stellar night for the special teams.
However, Lerentee McCray did get a hand on a Brett Baer punt late in the game that set up what would be the Broncos' winning TD.
"It's all disconcerting," Fox said. "It's something we will look at."
I could not have typed this better myself, especially the part about VON MILLER. I did not get that at all, but I don't get a lot of things Fox does...
Broncos 27-Rams 26, Instant Reactions

How did the Broncos do in the "dress rehearsal" preseason game? Not that great, but they came away with a W.
This just in... Ronnie Hillman needs to be benched... forever! I don't know what type of evidence he has on John Fox, but it has to be juicy in order for him to keep his starting roll after 2 straight weeks of horrendous play!
Trindon Holliday is saying "Damn dude, you need to learn how to hold onto the ball."
Welcome back Ryan Clady!!! You are missed my friend.
Our offense is playing fast.. really really fast. The Broncos had 30 offensive plays in the 1st quarter. That's ridiculous!!! I just hope it leads to more points in the regular season.
Why in the world is Fox starting Von Miller? for real, why? I'd think that he would use this time to get the week 1 starting defense gelling instead of having Miller play with the 1's
Mitch Unrein and Malik Jackson showed up to play today! Everyone's favorite darlings actually played up to their hype in this game. I've been skeptical on both of them, but tonight, I'll eat a bit of crow. I wont eat a lot because it's pre-season, but I'll eat a little (especially Malik).
I'm going to say this right here and right now... Although I love me some Montee Ball (1 TD tonight), I think Knowshon Moreno should start the season at RB with Ball rotating in with him. Hillman is horrible and Ball still has his head spinning with the playbook. Moreno gives us the most stability at that position, and he flat out earned a start based on last season alone!
That leads me to Matt Prater.... I had him #6 most important player, and he didn't disappoint tonight. While his 1st FG attempt was blocked (not his fault), his next 2 including a 54 yarder were right down the center of the uprights. This guy is a stud and will be our leading scorer. Top 10 I tell you, Top 10!!!!
Brock looked good tonight. He started off shaky, but settled down and looked good overall. He obviously still has some work to do, but hey, he has plenty of time to learn from Manning.
One thing is for certain... if you didn't play tonight, there's a better than average chance that you aren't making the team. Sorry Jeremiah Johnson, but this means you're gone. I know some guys love you, but the Broncos just aren't that into you.
