You guys talk as though the defense doesn't have the stamina for 60 minutes or something, but no team has been staying with the Broncos to give them that challenge. If they have to, they will.

Right now it's about not taking risks. When up by 3+ scores in every 4th quarter, there's no need to have guys go full throttle and suffer concussions.
The defense have allowed 45 of the 91 points in the second half..

31 of the 45 points came in the 4th quarter...

It's obvious the team has layer back in every game in the 4th quarter so yards and points mean nothing because we are smoking people when the peddle is on the floor

What you mean it means nothing, trying asking Woodyard about it ,because he agrees with me....

We had this problem, since last year and yet when the playoffs came we couldn't stop the Ravens at the end of the 4th quarter,so don't tell me it doesn't matter when it does...

A coach expect his defense to play 60 minutes of football, not 45 minutes ...

Like I said, until we fix this problem,we're not winning nothing plain and simple....

We won't fix it until the coaches stop laying back. It's not a player problem is play calling problem so it's JDR and John fox's problem. We obviously are a man to man, heavy pressure defense and that's the defense that holds teams to less then 14 points and in the fourth quarter we use a prevent zone and we only rush 4 and that's when we give up garbage points.

The players can say whatever they want but until JDR stops laying back and keeps pressuring and keeps playing man to man defense we will continue to give up garbage points.

I can't understand how anyone is surprised or why you think this has something to do with the players we have. This is exactly how we played last year when we were blowing people out, the coaches get soft and they don't want to run the score up. This is nowhere near a conditioning problem and laying back against teams when your blowing them out nowhere will affect how we play in tough games. Our defense will be there when we need it

What Denver's D has done in 2nd Half/4th Quarter is a tendency. Playing zone coverages is a call. Zone is also a look. It can look like straight Cover 2, which the Broncos have used this year, but become Robber. It can look like Zone, but be Zone Blitz, which the Broncos have also used.

Calls that go against the established tendency can happen at any time. JDR has an uncanny knack for getting the right personnel on the field in the right front and coverage. His use of the Double Eagle against the run is an example of that.

Giving up yards and points in the 2nd Half can be seen as a problem, but it is nothing more than a tendency at this time.

I agree and the only reason it hasn't bit us in the arse is because the offense isn't letting up until it's too late and we are scoring so many points teams just can't keep up. Once we meet a defense that can contain (notice I said contain, not stop) Manning and the offense, and keep the game close, it's going to be an issue. Fortunately, I don't think we'll meet such a defense until after Von and Champ are back on the field. Once those 2 get back, I don't think it's going to be as much of an issue mainly because they will allow our defense to get pressure without taking a lot of risks. Von is a pressure/sack machine, so his presence on the field will be huge.

Back to the actual subject of this Thread, and the subject of Kiszla's article, he's correct.

From an historic perspective, DJ Williams was arguably the best, and most skilled LB on the team a year ago when he finished his Suspension. And, with Williams, we have a history of what the Coaching staff does with a skilled player coming off of a suspension. But, of course, Williams was never a value at rushing the Passer. So, even though it may not be fair to the Players who weren't suspended, and have been doing Miller's job at a high level since Miller can't play, I would expect Miller to be worked back into the lineup at some rate, and to some degree when he returns.

DJ was actually a pretty good blitzer. He had 5.5 sacks the last full season he played.

...and on to the real point of the thread.

Danny T should cover Witten since he was a full participant today. There's no reason at this point he wouldn't.

I agree that the blame goes to the coaches, this is who Im directly my argument towards for the most part, but the players need to tackle also....I've been saying this, since last season, but everybody keeps telling me its not a big deal and the playoff game proved my point...
