This was not a classy move by our organization.

It's like the thin guy that says, "I need to lose weight"
in front of a group of fat guys.

Or a rich guy talking about rich guy problems, "I only have
      one Mercedes, and not two."

I am embarrassed to be honest.

Yup, which is why the Broncos took care of the intern who sent it and called a the Jags to apologize.

I find this whole "classy" argument fascinating.

I agree the Bronco PR guy should not have tweeted it out. But really low level stuff IMO. Hardly reaches the level of trash talking. More of an observation of how bad the Jags are. Broncos apologized and its over.

I imagine the Jags are a bit overly sensitive at the moment. They are winless and hopelessly bad on the field. They repeatedly hear they are 4 TD underdogs. I am sure their egos are bruised as professionals. But how is that the Broncos fault? Jags have earned the criticism.

I thought Romo's comments about rough play from Bronco DBs was less classy. Or the NFL strong arming the Broncos and Denver to have Ravens banners up all over the city. How classy was it for other teams to openly criticize Tebow or Orton just a few days ago? Or to make comments about the lack of Bronco pass rush because of "Dumervil's Faxgate" or Miller's suspension? Is it classless for teams to attack the safeties deep too?

I interested to see where the "embarrassed " fans draw the line of classy behavior.

Are you equally as critical of a player or front office guy that gets a DUI? How about any legal issues? A player that gets suspended for not being able to pass a piss test? Any embarrassment for news of Bronco players going to strip clubs or involved in sexual assault cases? Gun charges? How about a license plate that reads "sauced"?

I guess my threshold for Bronco embarrassment is higher then some. Because I see very little wrong with that tweet or the subsequent apology. But I find it interesting that some are outraged and want some low level PR guy fired for this.

How ridiculous has this protection of bruised egos become in our society? Maybe the fat guys should accept they are fat and embrace it or lose some weight. Don't blame the thin guy for their own thin skin.

While I agree with many of your points, the questions you ask are being posed to individuals and fans. What makes this different, is that this was done under the guise of the Denver Broncos brand as an organization, without their knowing or sanction.

No organization wants an intern or a worker to be the one to do something to determine your image in the community. That's why you have PR departments. All messaging is usually tightly controlled. It looks bad when you have a lone person acting "rogue" controlling your message, regardless of what that message may be.

While the tweet was not that serious, it did reflect poorly on the organization until the front office called the Jags, explained that it was an intern, apologized and handled it.

I do think it was in poor taste. The Broncos organization should just let the players do the talking on the field.

Thats easy to answer. I draw the line at myself and my team. While I may not agree with what others or other teams or the nfl does, they are not my concern. My concern is myself, my circle, and my team. Just because others choose to act classless does not mean we should follow it up with more classlessness. IMO you can measure a person based on what they do when krapt hits the fan as well as how they treat other people when they are on top. I think you could say the same about organizations too. It very much defines who they are. If organizations want their players and fans to be classy and respectful and show well on them then they should take the lead by example. Thats my opinion and as for the poster who said that the modern era is too soft (dont remember exact words) I did not grow up in the modern era. I learned to respect others and treat them the way you would like as I was being raised 40 yrs ago.

I was born in the 80's and agree with everything you said,
                    especially the part in bold.

Great post! Agree with all your viewpoints of respect towards others. Born in the 60s and have seen perceptions of what is considered acceptable or outlandish change over the years. In some cases bad, some good.

I see where the tweet is considered objectionable from a organizational standpoint. Perhaps too boastful. But IMO pretty low level stuff and not deserving of all the "classless" hype and demands for a 20something PR guy to be fired.
I would put it on the same level as the ridiculous "dances" we see weekly on 3yrd TFLs. Sign of the times.

Part of my questioning of some posters indignation and embarrassment is whether they are consistent with their opinions. Are they equally embarrassed by front office and player DUIs? About players suspended or arrested for their behaviors? During all the incidents over the last couple of years were they also calling for their heads too?

I do not suggest firing anybody. I think they should be talked too and maybe have their official Denver twitter priveleges suspended or atleast monitored before posted, but I wouldn't fire anybody. Everybody makes mistakes, I made plenty in my 20's
