  • King promoted Frankin out 1-2 weeks

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Broncos got some good news on the injury front and are poised to promote a player from their practice squad as well this week, possibly as soon as Tuesday.

    Franklin
But exams Monday showed tackle Orlando Franklin has a sprained left ankle and sprained left knee, but an MRI revealed no unexpected damage in either joint and the Broncos now believe he could be back in two weeks. The Broncos play at Indianapolis Sunday before Washington comes to Denver Oct. 27.

The Broncos then have a bye week Nov. 3, so Franklin is expected to be ready to go for a Nov. 10 game in San Diego. However, if Franklin progresses quickly there is an outside chance, the Broncos feel, he could be ready to play against the Redskins.

The Broncos will look at playing Winston Justice at right tackle, but if they don’t believe Justice, who signed after the season began, is ready to go they will stick with the lineup they used after Franklin left Sunday’s 35-19 win over the Jaguars -- with guard Louis Vasquez moving out to tackle and Chris Kuper playing at right guard.

The Broncos are expected to make a roster move this week with the Packers having shown interest in signing rookie wide receiver Tavarres King off Denver's practice squad. King, who can say no to a potential roster spot elsewhere if he wishes, is now expected to be signed to the Broncos’ 53-man roster. King, a part of this year's draft class, was among the final cuts after training camp.

The Broncos will have to make a roster move to promote King. They will also have to make a roster move for linebacker Von Miller at some point.

In the past, players coming off suspensions have received one-week roster exemptions.

Great news imo on both. I wonder who is gone. My guess is Jammer and Paris will be gone to make room.

Idk if 2 defensive players are cut. I would look for one offensive, one defensive. Wouldn't be shocked if we cut a TE with the emergence of our 2 young TE. But also wouldn't be surprised if we cut 2 defensive players

good point maybe we could work a trade for one of our TE and get a pick out of deal

            Kuper's return is timely.

We could also be trading Caldwell to GB, after blocking their attempt to get TK. We run 4 receivers (WR or TE) most of the time. Even if a WR went down, I think we would just see more 2 TE set...much like we ran last year. That really puts Caldwell 7th on the chart for PT behind: DT, Decker, Welker, JT, Tamme, Dressen/Green.

No way we trade Caldwell. He's perfect for our offense. After wearing em out with Deck, Demaryius, Welker, we throw the fastest receiver we have on our team(minus trindon) out there to run past the tired defense. Maybe im wrong buuut... I think the same thing. We Cut Lenon/Jammer. Lenon isn't good and hasn't shown a reason to keep him around and Jammer's..well...Jammer.

My son was looking over my shoulder Sunday as I was checking out the Bronco's roster. He noticed King on the practice squad, and then commented that he was an awesome receiver, and that he was a great guy to have. I replied that I hoped no other team would take notice and steal him away.

                  Talk about foreshadowing...

Sucks he's out next two games but at least he will return.

                    Regards to King, easy solution.

Cut Lenon and Jammer, put Von, King on active roster.

Of course they cut the guy who forced the pick on Romo who is still young.

While Jammer or Lenon won't be on the team past this year, makes no sense.

Glad King made the team though.

Well we can almost bet that one of them will be gone for Von, unless we can pull off a trade for a draft pick.

If anyone else is cut, then I'm lost lol.

                              For Von.

I did say Quantarus/McCray could take some spots next year however.
