Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Is it just me or do these guys just go look for trouble? I have been to many clubs over the years and not once did I get into a fight or an argument for that matter at any of them. If these guys can't control themselves they should not put themselves in a place/positions to where they jeopardize their futures. Ward should be old enough to know better.
Come on Broncos players, Stop the foolishness.
I'm with you on this 100%
very tired of the antics of these NFL players. Quite often they consider themselves above the law.
I never consider myself above the law, and I never get in trouble- EVER!
I have to admit I have been to some, okay a lot of strip clubs in my time and I wanted to beat something, but it was never another patron and certainly not an employee. They just won't dance with you when you throw glasses at them. You get a dance when you throw cash at them. Just saying.

In my personal "makin if rain" heydays, I hated when some of these guys came in and acted like the owned the place. There were a few places where me and my friends were regulars and we knew all the girls and staff. And due to the insane amounts we would spend, we were always very well taken care of. When some of these athletes came in, they wanted all the attention. And if a girl spent "too much" time with other patrons, they would get all childish and butt hurt. Some were cool and would party with us and the club would get insane (in a great way). But there were times where we had to urge security to get the clowns out before things got serious.
I've seen them act out over VIP being full, no champagne, not getting a "grand entrance", getting frisked, etc........ All very childish actions.
I honestly can't support the comparisons between the best of the best in the world - and some random people.
I don't get it - I've been to strip clubs and I never ....
It just doesn't compare. It bewilders you? Of course you don't understand why. You can't relate to the life of TJ Ward.
Even when you compare him to other star athletes who don't get into trouble - those players are given special attention for being great and walking the straight and narrow. Guys like John Lynch or Brian Dawkins. They were exceptions to the rule. They were outstanding because they were able to be so intimidating on the field, yet were such gentlemen off the field. I don't expect John Elway to back up my position on this matter publicly but I bet he at least understands what he was getting - it's not like the Broncos had that large a pool of top notch free agent safeties to choose from this offseason - we had to take the best we could get - and are resigned to take the good with the bad.
I don't want to come off as an apologist or making excuses for TJ - but he came with a disposition that we all knew was edgy and intimidating - lets not be so shocked and surprised when he lives up to it. I hope he keeps his antics to the level where it doesn't effect game time etc. But I won't hold my breath waiting for TJ to start acting like Tim Tebow.
It's not that I'm ok with what TJ did - I'd rather not hear any negative news about him just like everyone -but I'm just tired of the 'holier than thou' viewpoints of especially people like DMAC. Granted since it's his job to have an opinion he is pretty much forced to express it. It just comes off so condescending.
The beatings will continue until morale improves....

So you support the fact that these guys act like they are entitled? Personally I think that is a huge problem with our society today is everyone thinks they are entitled to do what ever they want with no consequences. This starts with the parents not disciplining their kids when they get out of control and snow balls from there.
I don't care who these players are they have NO right to act like idiots. You or I would go directly to jail and these guys get off with a slap on the wrist. Why should they not be compared to anyone else, aren't they supposed to follow the same laws as the rest of us?
I am pretty sure there are not two sets of laws and "Rights & Wrongs" for the special people and the rest of us.

You are quite right -well said!
These guys are not above the law, and furthermore, they have a responsibility as ROLE MODELS to thousands of kids who idolize them.
If Ward turns out to be a star in Denver, then lots of kids there will have posters of him, etc. What kind of message do incidents like this give to them -that it's ok to act like a friggin' barbarian in public?

I don't think he's supporting anything... It's like you got into a relationship with a girl who's had 5 ex-boyfriends in the past 2 months. It's basically a "Man, you know what you got yourself into..."
Not condoning or anything, it's more of like you kind of expected it, but were hoping for good behavior. It still deserves a strong slap upside the head, but people shouldn't be surprised that it happened.
20 something year old did something dumb in a strip club and booze was involved?
Ive been guilty of some stupid moments myself. I cant really judge a 20 yr old millionaire who likes drinking, & girls.
I wonder how many NFL Rosters are full of guys like Ward.
NFL fans are all for violence on the field, half naked cheerleaders on the sidelines, and 60,000 drunk fans in stands, but they have no tolerance for a players actions
off the field.

If those actions are unspsortsmanlike, or against the law, then yes. If those actions stain the image of the team or franchise, or might cause punishment from the league and lead to suspension, yes, no tolerance for it. The coaches and front office dont tolerate it either.
You seem to be implying that we should all approve of Ward's stupid and illegal actions and anyone who disapproves of it is a hypocrite, and you are exaggerating about that big time:
1. The violence on the field is not ancient Roman gladiatoral bloody combat --there's no weapons, and lots of rules including such against fighting. Football is not about assault and battery.
2. "Half-naked"? So cheerleader outfits are like porn? They show less skin than you see at the beach or a swimming pool.
3. And all the fans at the games are drunks and alcoholics? Not even! There's kids, families, old people -every type of person, and that's been the case at every game I've ever been to at Mile High since '92.
And Ward may be acting like many reckless young guys, but not all of them out there are racking up assault charges. The problem is not girls, strip clubs, or drinking, it's openly attacking someone so that the police are called and headlines are made everywhere. He needs to stop and think about his position and what he's doing -that's not beyond the capability of a guy his age, or too much to expect.
Severely annoying that every year we have this BS to deal with. And don't give me that "oh its in his nature, bla bla"
Be aggresive on the field and civil in the public, 100's of thousands of military men and women do it everyday. Follow the rules T.J. you don't "own" the world it owns you.....
Broncos' T.J. Ward accused of throwing mug at strip club bartender
Broncos safety T.J. Ward is accused of throwing a glass mug at a strip club bartender after she told him outside drinks were not allowed, according to court documents.
Ward appeared in Denver County Court on Friday and was issued a summons in connection with a disturbance at an all-nude strip club where he was partying with a teammate and a former Broncos player.
Authorities set a $1,900 bond for Ward, 27. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 23.
Denver police issued a warrant for Ward on Thursday, charging him with misdemeanor assault and disturbing the peace....
According to a Denver Police Department report, other staff members later told her it was Ward and that his entourage included Terrance Knighton, a Broncos defensive tackle, and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, a cornerback who played for the Broncos last season and now is with the New York Giants.
Ward appeared in court Friday morning. The warrant was dismissed because it had been mistakenly issued by the police, his attorney, Abe Hutt, said. Instead, Ward was given a ticket and another court date. He was not arrested or booked at the jail....
Ward signed with the Broncos in mid-March as a free-agent safety. He spent his first four years in the NFL playing for the Cleveland Browns, after playing college football at Oregon.
Under NFL rules, Ward could be fined by the league for a misdemeanor offense, but a league-ordered suspension is considered unlikely.

First of all show me where I said we should approve of his actions?
You are using the bully everyone into agreeing with my holier than though opinion. If you quit smelling your own farts for a minute you will also notice I wrote he did something stupid. Last I checked Ward will pay for his stupidity 10 fold. Hes already dealing with legal issues, the media has blown up what he did._ How has he responded? He didn't run. He went to court hes dealing with it and hopefully learns his lesson. Im still a fan of the guy im not going to judge him over one incident.
And maybe your not aware of nightclub staff, there no angels ive seen these people abuse there authority many times. This bartender took his drink and poured it out, then he reacted and tossed a glass at her in a way to annoy her not injure her, if that was his intent im sure he could have. Why didn't she have the bouncers kick him out, why did she grab his personal property and pour it out? Sounds like she didn't care about the incident until she new who he was. Sorry I dont feel sorry for the victim a strip club bartender.
Keep preaching your no tolerance maybe Goodell can get you on his staff.
FYI - your my boy Lynch we just don't agree on this one! You sound like a politician going the PC route, & I'm the dirty public defender. Hope you do take any offense to my comments.
