  • Training Camp Notes (16th June)

Safety T.J. Ward, who has impressed the Broncos with how quickly he has picked up their defensive terminology, was a partial participant in 11-on-11 drills as a concession to a tight hamstring.
Tight end Jacob Tamme, often a forgotten man given Julius Thomas' production, enjoyed a strong day. He caught multiple touchdown passes, including a long route down the sideline. He warrants less attention than Thomas, but remains an important part of the Broncos' plans as the off line tight end.
First-round pick Bradley Roby, who was burned last week by Emmanuel Sanders on a touchdown, picked off a Peyton Manning pass intended for the free-agent receiver.
Free agent rookie Kapri Bibbs took advantage of snaps in the second group with quarterback Brock Osweiler. Montee Ball remains the clear No. 1 at running back with Ronnie Hillman, C.J. Anderson, Bibbs and Brennan Clay rotating through snaps. Ball made a terrific over-the-shoulder touchdown catch in goal-line work.
The commitment to Orlando Franklin's switch to left guard remains, but the right tackle spot is wide open. Winston Justice started Monday after Chris Clark manned the position early last week. It will take preseason games to crystallize their competition.
Osweiler recovered from a shaky start Monday — multiple wobbly passes — with a pair of touchdowns. He delivered a long TD strike down the sideline.
Linebacker Steven Johnson intercepted third-string quarterback Zac Dysart [sic], who has been sharp in practices open to the media.
Terrance Knighton tried to pull a fast one on Manning. He recognized an audible and motioned for a linebacker to fill the gap, as the defense stuffed a running play.

          - Some nuggets mined from OTAs, minicamp -

"The Denver Broncos have now wrapped up their offseason program, worked through their OTAs and even had everybody in the house for their mandatory minicamp -- or as head coach John Fox put it, "we've had 100 percent attendance all the way through, so that's not a surprise.

On the field the Broncos, even in the offseason’s low-impact work, showed themselves to be a deeper, faster and committed team plenty worthy of being in any Super Bowl discussion. And in the end here are some takeaways from the past few weeks:" ...
