    - Go Red for Women event set for Tuesday at Cherokee Country Club; Manning to attend -

"Grab your red attire: the American Heart Association’s 11th annual Go Red for Women luncheon is Tuesday at the Cherokee Country Club.

“Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women,” Go Red for Women Director Lauren Thibodeaux said. “So we think it’s really important for women in Knoxville to be educated and exposed to this silent killer.”

Working to raise money for the AHA and encourage awareness of heart disease in women, the organization is striving toward its national goal to reduce death and disability from cardiovascular disease and strokes by 20 percent by 2020.

Attendees will hear from Knoxville heart disease survivor Rochelle Nelson. Nelson won’t be the day’s only special guest. NFL quarterback and former University of Tennessee star Peyton Manning is stopping by for the occasion. One lucky guest will get a photo taken with Manning and receive an autographed red tie."

Manning’s advertised attendance may have contributed to the event already selling out." ...

I know that he does all this out of the true goodness of his heart. Good for him!!!

He does have a lot of goodwill equity he has amassed over his career with people. I would not be shocked if he leverages it for politics somewhere down the road. Does anyone else feel that way? It does not undermine his intentions or actions because I truly believe he is sincere with what he does, but something tells me that he might give politics a go, maybe when he gets to his mid 40s or early 50s.
