I'm confident that we will re-sign Thomas and Thomas. I believe Elway will do what he can to keep the core group together and give Brock the weapons needed to succeed.

        #14 in yards.

considering he was basically a rookie last year in playing time Blocking can be taught.
        Catching TDs is a skill.

the only reason he does not have bigger numbers is THEY DO NOT HAVE TO FORCE THE BALL TO HIM.
like the teams of the players above him.

Elway will keep him over DT if it comes down to him or DT.

        the cap money is less
the cash up front money will be less

I'd love to see them keep both but they will have to make some hard decsisions and DT is not going to sign for a dime less than DEZ gets if not wanting more. and we all know that jerry jones over pays.
Really?? They will not keep JT over DT. These athletic tight ends are popping up all over. There are not freakishly fast and big receivers that are willing to block popping up anywhere close to that. If it comes down to Harris or JT, they will choose Harris. And most likely turn to Green or Robinson or both to fill the void.

the key to our upcoming UFA is how much upfront money they want as a signing bonus.
we will have somewhere between 20-40 million in cap space depending who they may cut to create more and what the upcoming DEAD money will be we already know that prater is going to cost us 813K give or take a bit.

DT will get a boatload of bonus money from someone period.

the question is how much they want to give to him and still try to retain the other 5-6 top guys that are on the list.

since the TV money does not come in in one lump some the only CASH they have for signing bonuses is what they have on hand after season ticket money comes in and what may be left over from lat year. (that does not mean cap money but plain old cash).

the players are paid per diem while at camp/OTAs so some of that CASH has to be kept back for that also.

the Broncos are not a rich team and NOW that PAT is not there to per se give John an allowance to said players it comes through the money guy and thus that Pat has give power over to. In the past PAT has imposed a limit on cash bonus money. once that is/was gone the FA signings slowed to a halt EVEN if they had cap space left over.

IMHO John will make some decisions based on that CASH for signing bonuses, if they give him more to spend then he can sign more of our UFAs, if it remains the same then he has to decide along with the coaches which player that have to resign.

It make more sense to me to keep 4 of the following players like Pot Roast, Harris, JT, Green, Garland, Cornick Irving Marshal, than just maybe 2 like DT and Harris.

here is a list of our UFA this coming season.

          Code:
Player	Pos.	Team	Type	Current Avg./Year
Wes Welker	WR	Broncos	UFA	$6,000,000
Demary Thomas	WR	Broncos	UFA	$2,830,100
Terra Knighton	DT	Broncos	UFA	$2,250,000
Chris Harris	CB	Broncos	UFA	$2,187,000
Jacob Tamme TE	Broncos	UFA	$1,700,000
Mitch Unrein	DT	Broncos	UFA	$1,431,000
Wi Montgomery	C	Broncos	UFA	$1,325,000
Rahim Moore	S	Broncos	UFA	$1,112,032
Orlan Franklin	LG	Broncos	UFA	$1,089,000
Tony Carter	CB	Broncos	RFA	$730,000
Nate Irving	LB	Broncos	UFA	$683,750
Quinton Carter	S	Broncos	UFA	$623,750
Virgil Green	TE	Broncos	UFA	$527,250
B Marshall	ILB	Broncos	ERFA	$495,000
Aaron Brewer	LS	Broncos	RFA	$481,333
Steven Johnson	LB	Broncos	RFA	$439,000
Julius Thomas	TE	Broncos	UFA	$420,750
Ben Garland	G	Broncos	ERFA	$420,000
Paul Cornick	RT	Broncos	ERFA	$420,000
John Youboty	43DE	Broncos	ERFA	$420,000
that is a lot of bodies to allow to go to FA.

Right now we have 3 starting OL guys under contract for 2015 Clady (not what he used to be), Vasquez ( hurt back) and Ramirez (who will be a FA in 2016 and is 32), we also have on the PS paradis. so maybe 4 OL guys for 2105.

the following year Miller, DT and Jackson and Wolfe that head the list of

          Code:
Player	Pos.	Team	Type	Current Avg./Year
Von Miller	43OLB	Broncos	UFA	$5,250,094
Chris Kuper	G	Broncos	UFA	$3,883,333
Chris Clark	RT	Broncos	UFA	$1,738,500
Manny Ramirez	C	Broncos	UFA	$1,575,000
David Bruton	S	Broncos	UFA	$1,500,000
Andre Caldwell	WR	Broncos	UFA	$1,350,000
Derek Wolfe	43DE	Broncos	UFA	$1,301,700
Brock Osweiler	QB	Broncos	UFA	$879,170
Ronnie Hillman	RB	Broncos	UFA	$750,208
Jordan Norwood	WR	Broncos	RFA	$695,000
Omar Bolden	CB	Broncos	UFA	$643,607
Marvin Austin	DT	Broncos	UFA	$615,000
Malik Jackson	DE	Broncos	UFA	$578,403
Danny Trevathan	LB	Broncos	UFA	$551,018
Lerentee McCray	43OLB	Broncos	RFA	$500,667
C.J. Anderson	RB	Broncos	RFA	$499,167
Brandon McManus	K	Broncos	ERFA	$465,000

so once again we have major cash to come up with for Signing bonuses. the cap space should be there but it was rumored years ago that Pat was BROKE, it may have been closer to the truth than we know.

They are paying a big mortgage for their part of the stadium and now a massive remodel of Dove valley. That money has to come from somewhere.

John has some tough decisions to make.
