Unrien played great last year. I didn't expect him to be so solid tbh. He was a pleasant surprise to me. And I'm a fan of his too.

Yeah - I'm not saying Big Vick is an elite DT or anything. But what he did bring was pride and nasty to our defense when other guys on that defense were 'ok' with getting blown out. He was one of the first who stood up and put his foot down.

I'm a Big Vick fan - you're not so much. I think he brings a lot more than just stats on a page. If you didn't see it - well you didn't see it.

I saw it - and I cheered him on like a rabid Bronco fan. I love the guy. He gave me reason to puff my chest ~stick my jaw out and say - yeah - stand your ground DEFENSE. This was obviously a couple/few years ago now. But I don't forget

Ya I go off of what they do on the field and Williams was by far better. Unrien is probably about on the same level as Vick.

Miller, Wolfe, Knighton, Irving, Talib, ward, trevathan and Ware all bring the same attitude to the defense.

Welcome back Vick. Now our D-line is stronger.

I agree with you and will take it a step fuither. Before Pot Roast suddenly became a star around the league right after time frame (last few games) that Big Vick got hurt, it was Big Vick not Pot Roast that was holding it down and providing that push and attitude.

Not saying Pot Roast was a ghost, but he really stepped it up when Vick left.

I think Vick actually starts for Denver, I am still not sold on Williams. To me he is too small and does not create a lot of push up front. We need big bruisers in the middle, not smaller shifty type DT's. We also need a nasty attitude on the D, he is the closes thing to Bill Romanowski that we have ever had. He might not be dirty, but he plays on that edge. WE NEED THAT ON DEFENSE!

Williams is 6'3" 320 thats not small. He has more leverage being shorter than Vick.
I think Vick should start and rotate with Williams keeping our big guys fresh. I look forward to seeing him rapping with the Seattle's offense week 3. He will fire up our d-line.

320lbs is small?!?! Hmm. He anchors down on a double teams far better then Vick. And at no time have I ever seen Vick just maul a offensive line and push people back consistently. Vick has 6.5 sacks in almost 10 years, Williams has 2 in 1 year where he only started 4 games.

compared to Vick and Roast it is. Or maybe he just plays smaller. They all have their own styles. And a rook usually gets bigger than he is in his first year.

This thread wasn't intended to rip on Vick - if you want to do that go start a thread in smack.

A conversation isn't a conversation if there aren't different point of views. All I'm doing is pointing out what I have pointed out for years. Vick is good but not great and would best serve the team as a rotational player that's if he makes the team.

Vick is my favorite DL player. He brings the big nasty.

I agree, Vick and Knighton should be our starters. Vickerson is an awesome 3 tech run defender, and every team will come out thinking they will match San Diego's blueprint on TNF when they ran on us and controlled the clock. Play the mammoths early and rotate in Sly, kicking in Jackson or Wolfe more frequently when we get leads.

With Vick healthy the DT rotation is solid and deep. Austin can also figure into the rotation. DT position is better than it was a couple of years ago with the addition of Sylvester... should be difficult to run at our middle again this year.

I like Vick he will only add to solid rotation we finally have at DT position it took years to finally say that. The only thing I dislike about Vick is his boneheaded penalties during critical times during the game, he needs to stop doing that.
