I think this was inevitable regardless of injury. Good luck Dreessen and thank you for your time in Denver.

I always root for Colorado players, it is a shame he cannot go. He had an above average career relative to the average NFL player's career. I hope he gets healthy. The Broncos are certainly fine without him and now will have a little more cap space.

This should bring Denver to 87/90 roster limit for TC

Should provide some cap relief as well.

This is not a big suprise at all.
His salary cap did not match up with his production.

He was scheduled to make a salary this year of $2,500,000 and accounting for 666k pro-rated bonus money that was pait to him at the beginning of the contract.
The 666k will be identified as "Dead Money" and needs to be accounted for in the cap.
The Broncos will save 2.5 million of the $3,166,668 cap hit.

Was such a blessing to come home and be a bronco the past 2 seasons. Everyone was so kind to me, especially the fans and media.

While disappointed I won't be a part of the 2014 broncos, I am looking forward to watching them. It's going to be a special season.

As people have stated, I think this was inevitable regardless of his health. There are more cap friendly options to go with on the roster. Good luck to Joel Dreessen

I think most of us saw the writing on the wall, a year ago. Especially as the season moved forward. You hope a guy's knee will respond to treatment, like Quincy Carter, for instance. And the Broncos gave Dreessen every opportunity to see if the knee would get better, similar to holding on to Kuper when a lot of us believed Kuper's career was likely over as he laid on the field with his foot pointing the wrong direction. It's the nature of the game.

I also can't help but wonder if Tamme, at $2.6 million/year, and now being our highest paid TE, might be a TC cut.

Does anyone know what this does to the "Cap"?

Have to say Joel Dreessen has been one of the most professional, honest, authentic players I've dealt with in my time around the league

We're at 7.2 mil under in cap space now.

This gives Elway some options if he wants to sign a few cheap vets before camp, or if they sign DT to an extension, they'd have the cap to use it there.

Sucks to see but not a surprise at all.

Was only a matter of time.
