The Broncos made two roster moves Wednesday, promoting safety Josh Bush from their practice squad to their 53-man roster and signing rookie offensive lineman Jon Halapio to their practice squad.
Bush was a 6th round draft pick of the New York Jets in 2012 and played extensively on special teams the previous two seasons. He was waived on Oct. 15 this year and was signed to the Broncos’ practice squad a month later.
Halapio played at Florida before he was a 7th-round draft pick of the New England Patriots. He didn’t make the Pats’ season-opening roster and had been playing guard for the Boston Brawlers of the Fall Experimental Football League.
The Broncos still have one opening on their 53-man roster. It could go to linebacker Shaquil Barrett, the former Colorado State star who is on the Broncos’ practice squad. The Broncos are down two linebackers this week as Danny Trevathan was placed on season-ending injured reserve and Brandon Marshall is expected to miss the game Monday night in Cincinnati because of right foot sprain.
