    - Peyton: Adam Gase worthy candidate -

"As far as references go, a 14-time Pro Bowl selection headed for the Hall of Fame whose name is carved into plenty of pages in the NFL's record book is a pretty good one.

And Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning believes offensive coordinator Adam Gase would make a quality NFL head coach. Manning said Wednesday following the team's practice that he's told NFL teams as much when they've asked and is ready to do so again.

Gase, in his second season as the Broncos' playcaller, is scheduled to interview with the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears on Friday and Saturday in the Denver area. ...

"[These are] opportunities he deserves,'' Manning said. "... Adam's always had his priorities in the right order ... He deserves it.''

The Broncos, who practiced Tuesday and Wednesday, will have Thursday, Friday and Saturday off before they are to return Sunday morning to the team complex for meetings and a workout with the strength and conditioning coaches." ...

He won't get hire because everyone thinks "Manning is the OC and Gase isn't" but here in Denver when the offense is bad we blame it on Gase only, because hes the OC.

    Ironic hun?

Almost feels bad for the guy, you get 0 praise and get 100% fault

That's the fans point of view. Clearly, people in the know think otherwise. He'll likely get hired, I think.

That didn't keep Mike McCoy from being hired as a HC.

I don't think he will be hired as a HC. Not this year anyway. I think he will be looking for an ideal spot and I think he realizes that he has to grow a little more as a coach before taking on the role of an NFL HC. People saw what happened with Josh McD. He was just a little too inexperienced to handle that role and I think some young coaches learned that it may be better to wait until they are ready than jump at the first opportunity they get. I could be completely off base, just my opinion

Well he's not gonna say "yeah my offensive coordinator is an idiot and shouldn't be getting head coaching looks"

            Just being diplomatic

              Exactly.

No current/active player 'in their right mind' is going to give anything but 'politically correct' answers and statements about their teammates and/or coaches.

Honestly I don't know why reporters even bother asking questions that they know they're not going to get answered 'truthfully & honestly'.

Gase certainly benefits from Peyton Manning to get all these interviews. You don't see many coordinators with subpar QBs turning into HC candidates. All the coaching and play design only work if the QB can deliver on the field. Peyton is not the OC, but he certainly has strong a influence on the offense because of his football intelligence. He brings ideas, plays, can get out of bad calls... It's very similar to Josh McDaniels' success with Tom Brady. It does not mean Gase can't be a successful HC.
