Yeah except statistically we were the worst team in allowing teams to throw for 1st downs in the playoffs, (overall ild rate us the 4th worst D in the playoffs) so it obviously wasnt working that well.

We had some of the best units in the game but a lack of study and a lack of planning made this D underachieve.

If the team had gone on to win the Super Bowl, I'd still think this was a strange thing to do

Seems like a pointless exercise when the time could be spent diving deeper into the archives watching extra game film, looking for tendencies in the upcoming opponent etc.

I love the idea of it and it was good fun for those press conferences to talk about. The players like it and I can actually see how it could be effective.

I just find it ironic that he's showing tapes then comes out and doesn't unleash the hounds on the Colts. Trying to get to Luck or get Luck off his spot with 4 seemed like a lazy plan. Maybe JDR was busy preparing for the Raiders though. I don't know, with guys like Ware, Von Miller and T Knighton - just change things up a little here and there and let these guys have an advantage once in a while.

Heck I even heard reports of JDR talking to the Raiders brass during our last regular season game against the Raiders. So we have evidence of 2 of our 3 top coaches having one foot out the door before the Divisional round game started - maybe even 3/3.

I dunno. You'd just think out of respect for Manning that everyone would have put their best foot forward. I wonder if Manning somehow lost credibility with the coaches at all. We wont ever know the whole story but in time we'll probably get a few nuggets.
The beatings will continue until morale improves....

I would love to hear Hayden Fry's take on this.
